Advantages: Lots of features, first 3G phone to my knowledge, 1.3 megapixel camera good at the time
Disadvantages: Outdated, rather chunky, better phones on the market now, only was avaliable on vodafone and 3
The Nokia 6630 was the first smartphone i had after i owned a flip phone. This phone was the best phone i'd ever had until obviously i bought a new one. But this phone i believe was the first 3G smartphone/symbian operated phone, so this gave it a unique quality at the time. Now there are phones such as the n95, n70 and 6680 e.t.c. At the time this was all i wanted in a phone. Here are some of it's features:
.1.3 Megapixel camera.
.Symbian operating system.
.Capture video and use video editing software.
.Able to play 3d games either Java or Symbian.
.Also able to run application such as word viewer, photo editing programs and music software, if Java or Symbian compatible.
.Quick internet access using 3G.
.Change themes.
.Memory card holder (I think the cards compatible are SD cards, i had a 512MB to hold my music and the phone should be able to support up to 2GB?)
.Change the casing of the phone to suit the style you want.
Upload photos/files by USB or Bluetooth.
Those sort of features were new to me then as i had a flip phone which could take photos but nothing more. I could use this one to view my word files which was good as i was a student at the time. Even taking photos was good as i would make good use of the camera and enjoy the fact that i had a camera on my phone. It felt like a business phone to me as it had everything i wanted. I bought this phone on PAYG as contract was sort of not my type of deal to go on. Back then i was able to go on vodafone live! for free, but now they charge to browse the wapsite, which is a shame as i could check out the news, sports results and get road directions for free. As long as i could ring people and have a camera it was perfect when i had it, but now people can buy up to date phones at good prices.
I would suggest getting this phone if you could not afford a better nokia smartphone. But if you want a simple and fun phone then this would work. Even though it's out of date and probably not worth much now, it was a good phone and a legend to me.
Summary: The Nokia 6630 was a great smartphone with a good operating system, which was good at the time
