Advantages: Full Colour Screen, Easy to read Menu
Disadvantages: Bulky, keypad difficult to see when lit, Sound Quality Awful
I have recently trialled this phone and personally I think an awful lot of work needs to be carried out on the software before it is released for sale. I loved the full colour screen. The colours are very good and the menu is very easy to read. The initial look of the phone looks very similar to the 7210i flip phone, without the flip front. The ringing tones were very good and downloading new tones was quick and easy. They were stored in a directory called Gallery then look for Tones. The disadvantages were numerous. The first thing I didn't like was the sound quality. When talking to someone it sounded like they were holding their nose talking. The vibration on your ears was so much that I ended up using the loudspeaker to answer all calls. I'm hoping this is just a software fault which can be looked into. I found it very difficult to compose a text message as the keypad lights made the keys very difficult to read. The two legged option button is something I've not encountered on a Nokia phone before and this took some getting used to. The volume for incoming calls was not very good. I found I had to have the volume control set on 5 so I wouldn't miss calls. When I moved out of the range for 3G it didn't automatically move over to 2G. I had to set this manually and vice versa. It would help if there was a warning tone that alerts you. WDCMA. This should be explained at the outset that this is the technical term for 3G. You need to know this as you have to set your phone to WDCMA to pick up 3G. It says its a Tri band phone but this doesn't mean it can be used in America. It purely means its 3G. This could confuse people as the phone WILL NOT work in America or anywhere else that needs 1900 setting. Couldn't find "show my own number". I had to ring someone else from the handset so they could tell me what my number w
as. There is a record button on the side of the phone but I couldn't find any reference to how to start record on the phone. I think a lot more work needs to be carried out before these phones are really ready to go on sale.
