Advantages: Ease of use, Clear screen, Good signal acquisition
Disadvantages: Size, Old design now
I bought my Nokia on contract with Orange in March of last year to replace a Bosch pay-as-you-go, also with Orange. At the time it was being pushed as "the phone from The Matrix". Okay, it does look similar, bit it isn't that one. A year on, and I can say that it's been a good purchase. What do I like about it: o Great screen, (a colour one would be great). o Simple controls. The "NaviRoller" especially is very well implemented. My four year old daughter can use this phone with little effort. o Good size/weight, (not keen on phones that look like something that belongs to a dolls outfit. o Pretty robust. I've dropped mine more than half a dozen times and it's still working fine. o Good signal acquisition. I've compared this to the Nokia 6110 on the same network, (employer-supplied phone), and the older 7110 always gets a better signal and holds onto it longer. o The slide section protecting the keys. What I don't like about it is: - Takes a long time to turn itself on. - The clip that holds the slide closed can sometimes be awkward to use, taking three or four attempts to get the slide to shut. I'm so satisfied with this phone that I'm only going to change when GPRS is fully/cheaply available. Until then I'll stick with this one, (unless Nokia bring out a 7110 version with a slightly taller colour screen, WAP2 and longer battery life).
