Advantages: Customisable, easy to use, Brilliant
Disadvantages: Can't get the back off, No snake?, loading
Well it was time for me to move from Pay as you go to Contract pay monthly. Opting for a nice Orange deal (£30 a month, 200 free minutes 500 free text message, free wap and a wide range of free phones) I decided to actually spend a bit of money on a phone, in fact £50 on the Nokia 7250i. Enter a new world for me, of colour screens, integrated camera's and polyphonic ring tones. WAP isn't an entirley new thing for me but it was so simple to use on the 7250i in comparison to the 5210 for example which often didn't work. It's nice to see the NOKIA brand keeping so up to date, especially with the likes of Samsung trying to steal it's thunder. No matter how hard you insist, Nokia maybe out of fashion in comparison to the new "clam shell" obsession (which is wearing thin on me) but it is still the easiest phone to use. With a phone that lets you do everything you could possibly want with the integrated camera (e-mailing it, sending it, putting it next to contacts, setting as backdrop etc...) to customising your text messages down the very detail. The minor gripe would have to include the frankly frustrating loading screens that flash up every 5 bleeding seconds, but it is easily ignored. The Polyphonic ringtones are far more accurate than the series of blips from my older phones... just rather embarrassing in a pub situation. It is all pretty simply to work out despite the useless booklet (It didn't take me too long to turn on delivery reports). You can customise everything, the phone is small and light, it plays a nice array of games (BUT NO SNAKE GRRRRRRRRRRRR) and the camera is rather smart with zoom functions and a night mode. Not to mention the Java games, infra red and GPRS. A top phone, from a reliable brand and right now... the best that money can buy. Well for the next few months at least.

- 23/10/03 Sounds good. I'm still undecided about getting a 7250i or a 6100. I have a 8310 at the moment and need to upgrade as its looking battered and I love the idea of being able to email pictures. Is it easy? |

- 04/10/03 7250i prices have already dropped which is annoying but hey, enjoy! |
