== About The Phone ==
The Nokia 7373 is described as a stunning and compact swivel phone. It comes in pink and black. The pink one has stylish ethnic embellishments that really add a sense of class to the phone, they make it look more than just a plain old phone, it looks like a lot of thought has gone into the design of it. The plain black one however does not have the embellishments, which is really disappointing as one of the main attractions to the phone are the embellishments and without them there is not much design wise that makes the phone stand out, apart from the fact that it's a swivel phone and the little tag it has on the side which also adds class as other phones don't have anything like that on them.
The 7373 is part of Nokia's L'Amour collection, which includes, the swivel 7373, the flip 7390 and the standard 7360. They all come in pink and black, and they all have the ethnic embellishments on them, with the exceptions of the black versions of the 7373 and the 7360, why Nokia decided not to include them on these I don't know, but I think they should have done as it is an integral part of the collection, the L'Amour collection is recognisable by the embellishments on the phones.
The 7373 has a 2 mega pixel camera with video recorder, a music player with twin stereo speakers and up to 2gb of storage. It also has Bluetooth, gprs, java games and web and walk on T-Mobile. Add to this a few other Nokia features and you have a phone that will suit almost anyone. It doesn't have anything out of the ordinary in it's features, just the standard bits that Nokia have on most of their phones. It would be nice if it had some extra features such as theme builders or something else which enables more in depth customisation of the phone. Mobile phones are like extensions of our arms, most people now would be lost without their phone, so having a phone that can be customised more than others is essential for some people.
It also has a mirror on the back of the swivel part, this is what makes it a girls phone mainly I think because it comes in handy when their make-up needs a touch up and they can't find their mirror. The black version was brought out to appeal to men more I think but even the black one suits women more. The size and shape of the phone is more feminine. Obviously some men will like the phone, and there is nothing wrong with that, it is not exclusively for women.
== Good Points/Features ==
The good points/features of the 7373 are the stylish design, memory card slot and Bluetooth. The image quality on games and wap are quite good. It is simple and easy to use, no complicated menu's and taking ages to look for specific things like with some phones. The phonebook is nice and easy to manage and look through too.
The sound quality is good when you want to play your music or if your phone rings, another thing which I like about this phone is the fact that you can change your sms tone, on a lot of phones you still cannot do this which means you have to use one of their pre-set tones, this is ok if they are half decent but some of the time they are rubbish and you would rather have your sms set to silent.
Another thing I like about this phone is how easy it is to use the sms function, some phones are hard to figure out how to turn the predicted text on an off and how to put in a space, small things like that. The phone also has a built in radio, which is easy to tune in and the signal is good quality.
The battery standby time for this phone is good, if it is not used much it can last two or three days without being charged up, which is good if you go away and forget your charger. The battery talk time of the phone is also good compared to some others. If it is used a normal amount the battery can last about two days I'd say. If you use it a lot, such as texting almost constantly, it can last a whole day, maybe more if your lucky. Some phones start losing battery after one or two phone calls, which is annoying as you have to put them on charge whenever your not using them. The phone I have now is not brilliant for battery life, but the other features on it make up for the poor battery life.
All in all the good points make it a nice little phone, if you mainly use it for talking and texting. The bad points highlighted below make it a phone that is not suitable for people who want a lot of photo's, games and music etc on their phone.
== Bad Points/Features ==
As nice as the phone looks and is easy to use it does have quite a few bad points/features on it. The main one is the memory, it's not brilliant unless you have a memory card, and if, like me you like your mobile to be nice and organised with specific folders etc you may find this to be a disappointment. You can create any folders you may require but for some reason there is an error on the phone that says name already exist if you try and put some things in their folders. I found, especially with games that I could put four or five items in a folder before the error would show up. This is a big let down with the phone and is one of the main reasons I got a new one.
Another problem with this phone is the camera quality, the photo's taken with it were poor, even for a 2 mega pixel camera, I didn't think they were much better than ones taken with a vga camera. This was another big disappointment because it meant I avoided using the camera as the quality was too poor to be worth it.
The black version of this phone, the one I had, is hard to keep clean, without the embellishments it is just a shiny plastic type material, it looks nice but it shows fingerprints up something terrible and this makes it look a bit tacky to be honest. The same can be said for the mirror on the back, it collects dust easily and shows fingerprints and smudges, it is also hard to clean said fingerprints and smudges off.
The problems I have highlighted are big problems to have as they are the main features of this phone, so if they are poor quality it doesn't leave much going for the phone really.
== What I Thought Of It ==
I loved the phone for ease of use and how it looks, but for memory and camera quality I found it very poor and thought it to be a let down. I have also noticed that these problems are common on other Nokia phones, with the exception of the N series. Nokia need to look at the phones with these problems and fix them for future models as they are big enough issues to prevent people from buying the phone, I know from owning other phone brands that they are fixable as the phone I have now has brilliant memory and camera quality.
== My recommendations ==
I would recommend this phone to girls that don't want a brilliant memory or camera. It is nice to look at and in my opinion the perfect phone for girls. If you need quite a bit of memory and like it very organised then this is not the phone for you, also if you like taking photo's and want a half decent camera quality I would recommend a different phone. If the problems with this phone were dealt with then it would be a brilliant little phone that I would recommend to everyone. As it is however it isn't.
