Advantages: Small size, Style, Call quality

Disadvantages: Small keypad

Do you want a mobile that is small enought to fit in a pocket?
Do you want a mobile that has lots of handy features?
Do you want a phone that has excellent looks and call quality?

If the answer to all these is 'Yes' then the Nokia 8210 is what you are looking for. I've had mine for nearly six months now and would be lost without it.

There is the usual directory for numbers but access to these can be acheived via either speed dialling (assigning a keypad number to an entry in your directory for one key dialling) or voice activated dialling (where you assign a voice command to an entry). To be honest I do not use either of these features as it is just as quick to access your numbers using the up/down and letter keys.

Predictive text messaging is a welcome addition especially after the old Alctel I previously owned. Makes those SMS messages very quick and easy to the extent that people have wondered how I've managed to reply so quickly. You develop very nimble fingers in no time!

The phone allows various profiles to be set up so you can assign different ringtones and options (ring volume, vibrate, text message tone etc) to up five profiles so you can have one for when you are indoors, in the pub or at work.

Along with this there is a handy organiser facility where you can set up reminders. I do not use this much as Ihave an PDA but in its absence it has proved very useful.

There is also a calculator and an IR port so you can connect to a PDA. The latter I use with my Palm M100 to access WAP.

Lastly, there is the usual games included. I don't play these much mainly because I'm crap at all of them, but if you've owned a newish Nokia then you'll know all about Snake & Co.

Add to this the ability to change the facia, ringtone, operator logo and like other Nokia phones you have plenty of different ways to personlise your phone.

At the end of the da
y, it's the styling and size of this phone that sets it apart. Some people reckon that its too small but how can that be? It doesn't affect the quality of the call and because of its size you can put in your pocket and no need for cumbersome belt clips. Got to be a bonus.

The only downside is because of the size the keypad may prove a problem for those people with large fingers.

The ongoing rumours of third generation phones may make some people hang around before making any purchase but bearing in mind the 8210 can be got on a contract for nothing with fre connection in many cases, I would say you would be hard pressed to find a better phone on the market at the moment.

Who says size matters...!! :)

Thanks for the advice!
Ephiphany, the phone is not WAP capable but by using the IR to connect to my Palm M100 (installed with Mobile Internet Kit) the access is pretty good. Can be slow sometime but I'm not sure if thats the ISP or the IR connection. Hope this helps!

Good first opinion. If you are here to make money though this isn't the way to do, not trying to be rude, but I did the same when I started last month, because there are so many other opinions on 8210's you wont get much money, try and find something unusual or write on a new item.
