Advantages: Menu option, x-press covers, size

Disadvantages: easy to lose, button to small

The Nokia 8210 is one of the smallest phones available for it’s size. It has many great features that you would expect from the larger phones.

As you’re all aware that the Nokia phone range has improved and you can see from this phone that it is one of the most popular one.

The main reason for the popularity is only one thing and that is the size of the phone. But remember that size can also have its downfalls.

One is that when placing your phone in your pocket how long would you expect to take it out.

Gone on Guess!!!!!

Well you would be surprised getting through you wallet into your change and packet of chewing gum.
And then what happens you get the phone out and it stop ringing.

The second reason would be that it is very easy to lose your mobile. One is the weight because you might think you have the phone but it’s something else in your pocket (CLEAN MIND OF THINKING THANK YOU) You can easily be fooled that you are carrying your phone.

Design
---------

The design on the phone is very sharp to look at and the keypad has a very small space to press the buttons. So people with big finger better watch out. The option to allow you to change face is an excellent design idea as there are many people out there who don’t like having the same looking phone.

I guess this is a personal issue that I won’t go into.

Features
------------

The phone has the standard feature as most other Nokia phones with a few extra bits.

It has a built in infrared device, which allow you to transfer contact details and connect to mobile devices such as (Pocket PC, Laptop and other data device).

The maximum transfer rate that you can get out of the phone is 14,400 kps but what most people don’t know is that it depends on your network provider service. Most network provider can only transfer at 9,600 kps but they neve
r tell on the package for the handset that this is the issue. As everyone know most company are only out they’re to make money and nothing else.

As I mention to you there a changeable xpress-on covers which allow you the freedom to change the look of your phone at anytime. The good thing is that these covers won’t cost you too much and you can go out with your dressed up phone at the same time. (Your new found dress mate)

Voice dialling is a new feature on this model of phone and at a touch of a button and you talking into it, you’ll be able to bring up your friend number quickly. Please note that not all the 8210 have this feature and you’ll need to check with Nokia if you’re able to update the phone.

Picture messaging is a new way of sending a message to friends and family. It allows you to send a picture to another phone with out the need to write any text. The only bad thing about this is that your phone also has to be picture message compatible. (What a bummer if you have an old phone)

Size
------

The size of the phone is the best features with it slim and lightweight design has won many customers over. It is so light that you will defiantly will need to trouble check that you’re carrying your phone.

Weight: 79 g (Lithium Battery)
Dimensions: 101.5 x 44.5 x 17.4 mm, 66 cc

this has to be the best-sized phone around.

Standard Stuff
-------------------

You’ll get a lot of the standard feature such as

Call register – catch up with you missed calls, received call, made call to see if anyone used your phone.

Ringtones – you can download from the Internet or over the phone personalised ringers for your phone. You’re allowed to store up to 5 ring tones.

Predictive text - An easy way to write your text messages out. What it does it suggests words for you, which you then
pick.

Overall
----------

The phone is great but I would make people aware of the size, as this is a key factor of losing your phone at anytime. I would recommend getting insurance for your phone as you might just damage the phone even in your pocket.

Also a hands free kit would be recommendable to uses for the times when you’re not able to each for your phone.

Price
-----

The price can vary depending on what package and network you select. Some shop is currently offering this model for 39.99. I would always say to look around before you buy as many stores offer free accessories that are not always that good.

You will also be able to get an unlock phone for around 250 pounds that is way too much to spend.

Important
-------------

Since the launch of this phone there has been quite a few problem occurred so please make sure you check the software version of the phone by pressing *#0000# to see if you have the latest version.

I’ve listed the entire version for you and remember that you can go to a Nokia service centre to get your version updated

v5.08 (Oldest)
v5.11
v5.12
v5.16
v5.20
v5.21
v5.25

Good in depth op. My friend works for the Carphone Warehouse and he says this is not the phone to get. Manufacturing glitches apparently. He reckons the 6210 is the best on the market at the moment. Thanks for your review mate.
