Advantages: Good sound quality, Very Small, Good Support
Disadvantages: Too small for some people, Expensive brand new, No WAP support
This phone is actually one of nokia’s older phones. It was around in the days of the 6210 and the 3210. However the technology in this little handset is remarkable. Even now it is one of the smallest phones on the market and still boasts impressive capabilities. First of I am going to discuss the quality of the product and then the support it has.
The sound quality of the nokia 8210 is in my opinion second to none. Both on the receiving end and the speakers end. An example of this is when I was speaking to my brother on his nokia 7110. He was in a bar and I was in a crowded chip shop. Regardless of the high volume of external noise there was a high quality of sound. We actually both thought that we where in quite locations. However i have noticed a drop in quality when speaking to people using some siemens phones (c25).
The batteries are good offering a long talk time and charging in a relatively short period.
There are a great many accessories available for the nokia 8210. All the usual hands free kits, sim card kits and a great many facias. Also because the phone has a on board memory it can receive and store up to 5 ring tones. It can also receive graphics.
Finally the bad points. The phone has no WAP or Wireless Application Protocol support which means that you cant use the mobile internet on the phone. The phone is also quite expensive. For the best value I would recommend buying second hand as they are very sturdy despite their size, something my particular phone has found out time and time again.
Overall a great handset that has aged well and still has a lot to offer.
