Advantages: Size, Functions , Credibility
Disadvantages: Sometimes slow when typing texts unless you use predictive text
I first got my 8210 more than a year ago and I simply love it. I didn't bother upgrading after the first year because I would have had to pay a fee and the 8210 does just about everything you need from a mobile phone. Firstly it looks and feels great, and it's very light but strangely feels strong. I dropped mine a few times and it still functions fine. The layout of the small buttons is well thought out so even someone like me with shovels for hands can operate it quickly. There are plenty of rings tones, the ability to receive new ones but no composer, though I don't consider that a big flaw. It has the cool ability to be able to send and receive/read text messages while making a call, very useful if using a headset. Voice dialling, vibrating call alert, call waiting, predictive text are among specifications. One of the most handy features is the Calendar function. You can use this to store reminders and birthdays etc. You can set alarms for each of 50 possible memos. I couldn't live without this function now. I am terribly forgetful but this little baby keeps me organised. The size of this phone and lack of 'sticky out' ariel means easily kept in jeans pocket. It is also so small that you do get paranoid sometimes that it isn't in your pocket even when it is and I find myself keep checking! Buy this phone and you will not be dissappointed. Update: Some additional functions of this phone... Text messaging: As well as normal word text messages, you can send and receive picture messages from other Nokias, though I must say I never use this. Call Register: Allows you to checked 10 of your most recent outgoing, incoming and missed calls, as well as call duration. Profiles: Allows you to customise the ringer and vibration alert of your phone for different circumstances. I have mine set for Silent (no ring and no vibrate), Discreet (quiet beep once and no vibrate), General (quite loud ring with vibrate), Loud (very
loud ring with vibrate), Headset and Car profiles are also available and customisable to your own preferences. You can select Caller Groups. This function allows a different ring tone to be assigned to groups such as friends, family or a spouse, very useful I find. Settings: Allows changing of things like speed dialling, call waiting options and the setting of the clock and alarm clock. Call divert: lets you control your answer phone service, be it whether you want it on when not you're not available or the phone is swithced off etc. You can set this so it directs peoples call to a landline say your home phone. This sound useful but I've never had to use it. Games: Snakes (the original and best version), very addictive. Memory, Logic and Rotation. Calculator: comes in useful though it quite basic. Calendar: mention previously. Very useful. Infrared: allows connection to a pc (software not included) or another 8210, even to play snakes, though I must say the IR port is poorly located to the side and you tend to cover it up with your hand playing 2 player Snakes. Services and Information: allows you to receive text message updates on news, lottery, sport etc, dependant upon network operator availability. The phone also has changable front face plates, but not the rear like some other Nokias. A separate button on the side controls volume, so you don't have to pull the phone away from head and press other buttons when talkiing. The backlight of the screen, like most, is green. I find battery life to be about 48 hours including about two hours talk time. Talking continuous I say the battery would last about about 6 hours. The phone can store 250 names and numbers on the phone or 90 on an Orange sim card with 10 text messages on sim. You can get the phone to copy all of the names and numbers from the sim to phone and vice versa, and keep or erase original, handy if putting your old sim in new 8210. <
br> I can't think of much else to say about this phone other than it really does do everything I need from a mobile and it is great!
