Advantages: looks
Disadvantages: games
The Nokia 8250 meets all expectations? As i live in the UK i could not personally buy this phone myself, but i can tell you that the days i waited for it to reach my hands seemed longer than ever. Its sleek and stylish looks make any buyer fall in love with it! It is small and light weight and slots into any confined space. Sometimes i do worry because of its size it is so easy to lose and i am constantly checking my pockets to see if it is still there. When placed into a mobile phone case it simply disappears right to the bottom because it is so small. It is small, but everything is compacted inside this miniature phone with excellent sound quality. So wots so special..The nokia 8250 has a specially designed - butterfly - keyboard, it is comfortable to use and ergonomically designed. The more important buttons stick out more than the others and is easy to use simply with one hand. It also has easy changeable fasicas ranging from illcit green to bewildered red. I understand that it has been said that the 8250 is the upgrade of the 8210, with better features and more time has been put into this design - the 8210 has flat, harder to press buttons. Although, the 8250 seems too far from just an "upgrade". Although there are its con's. I would describe the nokia 8250 more as an "office or business" phone. It can type up to 160 characters and store a stinjy 10 messages. It can however store 250 names and numbers, but then again i guess this proves my point of being more of an "office" phone. Also, due to its "hard" buttons games like Bantumi are simply not possible on this phone and there is only snake 1, memory, logic and opposite. These games aren't exaclty thrilling either - BUT these games are unique, like, logic and opposite - they are NOT available on most nokia handsets. Opposite is more like Othello and Memory like Pairs. I have been told that my phone is simply the best if only it had bett
er games. Another main con is the price!! mine cost 2000 HK dollar which is roughy 190 - 200 pounds, another bummer is it can not be bought in UK. ALthough its price does reflect its quality and is definately value for money. The 8250 has voice activated dialling, which is ace and so interesting... talk to your phone!! You could be like Keanu Reaves in "The Matrix"... phone TRINITY. Erm, PROFILES, the 8250 has a number of profiles you can set in, with cool screensavers as well. Set your own ringing volume for different invironments, set it to vibrate, set your message tone extra loud when you get messages! By storing these settings into a profile you can simply change your profile with the touch of a button instead of having to go through repetitive processes to change settings. VIBRATE ALERT it is useful in noisy surroundings, virate alert does not just tickle the side of your pockets, but, when held tightly in your hand trys to squirm its way out. CALENDAR can set alarms for when you wake up, store birthdays so you will never forget them or simply just for everyday appointments. INFRARED, most importantly transfer information like phone numbers to other compatible phones and play 2 player snake with other infrared nokia users. It is simply the best, your friends will wonder.. how on earth?!?! TONES. To be honest they are rather disappointing since the rest of the phone is excellent. Although there are one or too different compositions that are a joy to listen to over and over again and are unusual. There is the fact that there are 5 spaces for newly composed ones done by yourself or tones that are sent to you to make up for the fac though. PICTURE MESSAGES. Nokia 8250 generous on picture messages, aeroplanes, love hearts, skylines, dragons, there are pictures for all occasions. CHAT. This is available to all nokia chat user. Keep up to date on messages you dont have to store them but the messag
es are lost when the conversation is closed but you can revert back to them during your conversation just like in a chat room! BUT then again i would advise you only to use this when you KNOW that your user has their phone on and you are expecting to have a long text conversation. CONFERENCE CALLS. Feel like you are at home! Be able to chat to more that one person at once and switch in between calls! I would advise you to buy it though to be the envy of your friends as nothing can compare to its looks and joys it brings! The nokia 8250 comes with a charger that CAN be used in the UK and unlike phones in the UK they can be bought sim free and cost roughty the same price as a phone with a sim card in. IF you did not understand wot i meant by this, usually phones like pay as you go which come with the tariff's sim card cost less than just a plain handset with no sim card - a LOT less as well, if you were thinking pay as you go phones cost a lot. The nokia 8250 is compatible with all if not most british tariffs, as my phone was bought in Hong Kong i am currently using a BT CELLNET pay as you go sim card.
