Advantages: Small., Light., Funky.

Disadvantages: On/Off button., I'm struggling to find any more.

Okay so i've had this phone what, 3-4 years now and it was the first phone i ever had. When i first got it i was chuffed. It was the latest model out and i was keen to use it although the only reason i had this phone is because my parents had split up and one wouldnt let me speak to the other. So you see it was for a bad reason that i actually got it in the first place. The whole phone itself was fine, i often took to the advantage of using the radio and really like the neon lights which lit up every time u touched a button. However, recently i have whitnessed a serious problem with the phone, and it was something to do with the one feature i had never liked from the start. The only feature infact. The on/off button could be classed as discrete, it is on the top of the phone and requires you to push down and hold. About 2 weeks ago now i went to push down with my nail and it wouldn't come on, it had been pushed down and stayed down. Although, it was my own fault i suppose, partly because i broke the case a while back and the on/off button had fell out so i just tended to use my nail and push down on it. But of cause the time came when it didnt work any more and had to be taken in and repaired. It was at the repair shop about 1 week (the reason for this being is that the repair man was only in on a tuesday and thursday) and cost me £45 to repair. £25 was charged for the service and £20 was charged for the new case. This i found rather funny as you can infact purchase a brand new phone case in most shops for £10. However, it was a very nice black and orange phone case one of which i had never seen before. So if you are going to purchase one of these phones make sure you look after it and as soon as the case breaks have it reapaired. Overall a very good phone, one which i am planning to keep!

Have had the Nokia 8310 for a couple of years now and the only time it let me down was when I left it in the car for a couple of days in very hot weather, when it completely seized up for a day. Just left it and the next time I tried to use it it was fine and has been ever since. All my friends have camera and video phones which either keep cutting out or aren't very clear and then borrow mine. I bought my daughter a Samsung e720 and the first one I took back a couple of days later as it was faulty. The second is nowhere near as good as my 8310 for sound quality, I can get a clear signal and hear perfectly with mine wherever I am, inside or out, even in the wildest countryside when out with the dogs. Wouldn't swop it for the world, (slight exaggeration but you know what I mean).

A very good review. I loved my 8310 and I miss it dearly since I "upgraded" to a Sony Ericsson K700 (read my review on here for my less-than-satisfied opinion of it) and gave the 8310 to my parents.
