Advantages: little known carriage return feature, great radio, cool white light

Disadvantages: no composer, no screensavers, keeps crashing

well, i love my little nokia 8310. ive had it a few months now, and i remember the day that it was due to arrive, i could not wait! it finally came in the evening and i spent the whole night mucking about on it. the first thing i noticed that it was so small! much smaller than my old 3330. it came with the blue cover on, when i turned it on it had a little animation, and gave a little tune! nice touch, i thought. then, i fell totally in love with the white light!!!!! and i love the way it fades out rather than just switching off! ah its so cute! ooh and it holds a ton of messages and pictures as well. which i love, because im addicted to texting! thank goodness i get 500 free messages per month! :) and the radio is so cool, its really clear and does not run your battery down too much!
ok, there are some bad points to this phone :(
one.
there is no ringtone composer. this is mighty annoying, i was used to composing those tones. now i have to get someone to send it to me. why nokia left the composer off this phone i dont know. it is usually a selling point of their phones. even the nokia website says that this phone has a composer, but it doesnt!!!!!!!
two.
you cant have a screensaver. i liked my animated screensavers on my 3330, and was disappointed that i could not have one on this phone. i got used to it though, its not that much of a bad thing.
three.
you cant download pictures off wap sites. i guess nokia got wise to people doing this and stopped it because of copyrights or something. but there are some wicked wap sites offering great picture messages, which i now cant get, once again i have to get them sent to me.
four.
the ringtones ring so QUIET! even when theyre on level 5 there still quiet. sometimes i can hear it vibrate before i can hear it ring!
five.
as some other people have pointed out, the phone occasionally resets itself. this is annoying. to me it happens if i have lots of messages in the inbox, and i
try to open it, sometimes it crashes then. also if i get two messages at the same time, that is when it most commonly does it. this is really irritating when it happens, but to me it does not happen often enough to consider changing my phone.

there is one really cool feature of this phone, that no one else has mentioned. when you get one of those cute texts, with little men dancing or teddies kissing or suchlike, you know the kind i mean, usually they have been sent off the internet. but with this phone, you can make them yourself! the feature i am talking about is carriage return. when your writing a text, try pushing 0 three times, or go to the list of funny characters and select the very last one. it looks like a bent arrow pointing left. this is carriage return, and it will take you to the next line of text
