Nokia 8800 Sirocco EditionAnd as it blows, the powerful sirocco makes its own unique sound - a composition from nature caused by two air masses colliding. With nature as his inspiration, Brian Eno, the world-renowned music composer and ambient music innovator, has created a unique 'sonic texture' that is organic, calm and highly evolved. It has an otherworldly feel - comprised of notes created by instruments that Eno has selected and 'synthesized' himself. The stainless steel case of the Sirocco Edition is treated in such a way as to give the device a unique sensual feel, which humanizes this natural masterpiece. Impeccable functionality is created through superlative craftsmanship, using techniques drawn from master watchmakers and jewelers. From the sapphire coating of the 262,000 color display to the distinctive slide mechanism which reveals its 2 mega-pixel camera, or even its extended battery life, every seemingly minor detail of the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition is honed to perfection. The ergonomic keypad undulates like the glimmering dunes of the night desert, whilst the jewel-like navigation key shines like the brightest star in the darkest night. The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition truly is unique, created out of the inherent beauty and chaos of nature and distilled into a modern form that is graceful, sympathetic and spare. When I first got the Sirocco I thought it was great. A nice an sturdy metal casing, which looked neat and professional and had great protection (though I came to find was easy to get scratches on it). It has enough memory to save a good amount of songs, pictures, videos etc. But after a while the battery would last about a day, then to half a day, until it wouldn't charge and battery was dead. So I thought ti was the battery and bought a new one. The same happened to that and it actually expanded inside the phone. So I bought a third battery, and it didn't break but battery life lasted less than a day. So I would say, don't bother with this phone if you want more than a ... Read the complete review

Exquisite and delicate, 8800 Sirocco stood before me for few months. At first I did not like Sirocco as much as the older 8800, but as time grew, I saw the improvements. The one great thing, which I thought, was exclusiveness about this phone. I was the only one who had this phone, amongst 100s of people, and people often commented on it, as most of them knew about it. The build is immaculate, sliding mechanism is smooth and perfect, the glossy black steel is easily scratched but wonderful to see. A true beauty in design and construction. The fault lies in the fact that it was very costly, still around £300 retail price, and the screen was small and resolution poor. It ... Read the complete review

I have had this phone for about a year and a half now and it broke twice within the first 6 months, and I mean completely broke! The phone would just turn itself off for no reason and not turn back on, and if it did ever turn back on it would just have a blank screen or none of the buttons would work. Everyone else I know who has had this phone also had the same problem with it so it must be some inherant flaw inthe software. The phone itself is actually quite nice, the shape is stylish and sleek and it is made of a lovely piano key black metal which shines brilliantly (although touch it once and its covered in fingerprints) it does come with a leather cloth ...
