A year ago when the nokia 8810 first came out people were lost for words at how technology had really changed. Being the first in a series of small phones, the 8810 had altered the production of phones to be! With its small size and stylish look this phone was one to have. However first retailing as an offline phone for about £350, it was not seen to be worth it. Nokia had at last made what the people wanted but couldn't get the price right. With features such as internet access and infra red (for two player gaming - snake) the phone stood out from all others in its range. As a start to a new revolution in mobile phones there soon was the introduction of the 8210. Being as small as the 8810 it was a very similar phone just without the sliding face, but being cheaper to make, it was cheaper to buy. The crash of the 8810. However this was not the end. A few months later comes along the 8850 and 8890 which really locked the 8810 in a closet, literally throwing away the key. That was the end to this phone's reign as a supremacy. Getting the phone as a gift last weekend I’m a very proud owner. Even though the 8810 is in fact a year old I still think it's great. With the games snake, memory and logic and its elegant looks I still think this phone is a great buy. So if you want to spice up your look with a new mobile phone, get an 8810 as it makes you look a million dollars!!!
This telephone in a 1998 has appeared in Finland. Nokia has manufactured, as then it seemed, most perspective model. Let's see: dimensions are 107*46*18 mm, weight is only 98 g (with the lithium battery). And today at all much for a device having a huge amount of possibilities. Absence of an antenna in customary understanding, original design, huge amount of innovations, such, for example, as infra-red port and organizer simply could not be not remarked. The telephone has made furor in the market of cellular communication. After the first delights in my soul "creep" first doubts. They came after a perusal of the publicity leaflet. For operating time of accumulators was given too wide scatter: in a waiting mode Ni-battery promised to live from 36 till 133 hours (lithium from 15 till 60 hours). I, certainly, heard that "the duration of work depends from many factors", but not in 3,7 times! I could give only two distinct explanations to this fact: first - the built-in antenna consumes a potency very much nonuniformly for different level of a signal, however was more probably second - in a system there are technical defects calling outflow of an electricity, about which the firm knows, but to correct can not. The following, that called suspicion - availability velvety cloth for wiping body in a package. Certainly, it is pleasant, when the manufacturer cares of cleanness, but why the phone cannot be wiped, say, by usual towel, nobody explained. You agree, purchasing the most expensive model in the market, it would be not so desirable to repair it or, it is worse than that, to change. But, as well as it happens usually, all these thinks excite me already after purchasing. Whether it is necessary to speak, that phone perfectly finds room in any pocket. To carry the telephone it is very pleasant. From the point of view of ergonomics the model very much has liked to me, all keys under a hand, functionality is 100 percentage. On front panel of Nokia 8810 is located the large screen containing five lines of a text information. It has high contrast, allows to reproduce graphics images, the quality of picture is valid good. Working keys of a main board of black color, they is precise and it is clear are marked. Its size is enough large. The typing of number or short text messages does not call any difficulties, even the sliding cover does not hinder access to the lower buttons. Generally, keyboard at this telephone more ergonomic, than at a direct offspring - Nokia 8850. In dark time to help the user the pleasant greenish illumination is called which, if there is a necessity, it is possible to turn off. The size of a key "On/Off" is small, to press it inconveniently, but it executed so, that practically excludes a spontaneous turn off. The strengthening SIM reliable, to put and to remove it is very conveniently. Even after long operation the strengthening will not leave out of operation. Now spoon of tar - brilliant surface very fast marked. After each touch to phone on a silvery surface there are spots. It is half of trouble. Approximately after one year using (carry in a pocket) paint begin "get of", exposing a cheap yellow-pink plastic. The given feature was showed to me very strange. The Finns for a long time are glorified by excellent quality of assembly and coloring, but, unfortunately, my telephone not first, "the changed appearance". The work with menu on telephones Nokia generally, and on it in particular, is thought over up to trivialities. To be guided in items it is easy, to their disposition fast get used. All catalogues, subdirectories and the concrete parameters have number, so that to reach the necessary function it is possible, simply by entering it number. On choice 35 variants of tunes are offered, if any will not approach, it is possible to download a tune from other telephone or Internet. The loudness has five le
vels. I want to mark availability of an alarm clock, which is awake, even if the telephone is disconnected. If you love more to write, than to listen and to speak, please, the phone supports all functions of SMS. To use them it is convenient, the telephone is constant suggests, that it is necessary to press. The large screen allows without problems to read the electronic letters, and the simplified access to voice mail converts it listening into pleasure. And now about communication. At once I shall begin from sad news. As was clarified, the telephone not only longly is registered in a net, but also after registration catches a signal very uncertainly. From time to time connection is torn even in city, and it happens without the visible reasons. It is possible simply to stand on one place, and the pointer of a signal constantly skips - or two divisions (from four), or no one. During talk frequently there are any noises. If was lucky to select a place, where the signal is well caught to speak by telephone one pleasure. The range of loudness dynamics is broad, is excellent audible both in the underground, and in the driven automobile. The microphone works well, it is shifted together with a forward board, coming nearer to a mouth.
The 8810 is certainly one of the more stylish phones on the market. But, all good things come at a cost (not just money).... Well the price varies according to your tariff and contract but there really isn't a lot in it. Yes it is the phone that every respectable business man wants to be seen answering, and yes it will probably impress your colleagues but does it falter at the basics. Well the answer's yes, it has its problems, I won't bore you with all of them but only the major one. It's size, those people at nokia have almost got it so you can clench your fist around the phone and you wouldn't be able to see it. Well close but not that small. The problem is the flip down case. Your flip down the case and then when your typing in a number your fingers or thumbs get caught on the edge. Particularly annoying and sometimes painful. However, it has more benefits then problems apart from it being cute and stylish it has got some groovy little functions. So my vote - well buy it if you've got the money!!!
The Nokia 8810 is just too small for my liking. It may look flashy but when you actually think about it, it's not what it looks like; it’s what it does. For starters the keypad keys are awfully small. Too small infact. If you have huge fingers you will have allot of trouble using this phone and you will be highly disappointed. This phone is for people who do not need to use it that much and also for people who like wasting their hard earned money. The phone does have some good features though, like you can store five different ring tones and has more space in the address book. Also there are around 5 games including snake2! That is a great game, especially compared to the first snake game on the 5110 and the 5146. You can also change the x-press on covers, which makes the phone look really nice! You can buy a variety of colours and patterns and also some pretty groovy slide down covers, which are good, if you always manage to press the keys when it is in your pocket. But as I said before, it's not what it looks like; it's what it does and how reliable it is. The phone is reliable and does deserve some credit. I cannot say that this phone is really bad because there is allot I do like about this phone. The only thing I have a major problem with it is its size. I think that the people who make these phone are making them too small. What is the point because they become easier too loose, easier to break and they also become harder to use. The people that make these phones should think about all of the aspects of what a good phone should look like and what a good phone should actually do. You can get this phone on all of the networks on a pay monthly contract or on pay as you go. Personally I think that pay as you go is much better because you only pay when you use the phone, unlike pay monthly where you have to pay s much a month even if you don't use the phone. Overall, I
would really like this phone if it was a bit bigger than it is now. Thank you for reading. Hope you enjoyed it!
This has to be the most sexy and stylish mobile phone of the year, made by, you guessed it, Nokia. The phone is minute in size and has a whole array of features, you'd never get bored of this baby. Features include vibration alert and a wide range of ring tones. The sleek silver case makes you look so stylish and the phone itself is so small, the ultimate fashion accessory. The only thing i'd say wasn't too good about this phone is the silver case, it's too flash and gets covered in fingermarks. It's also very expensive so i'd start saving my pennies if you want one of these.
Quality speaks for itself. You can tell a lot about a person when you meet and shake hands. And you can tell a lot about the Nokia 8810 by picking it up, holding it and admiring it. You can see that this is a mobile phone that was designed with care, one that you will carry with pride. But you cannot always judge a book by its cover, no matter how beautiful. Look beneath the surface, and the Nokia 8810 gets even better. You might call it chemistry, electricity, magic. It is a sixth sense that makes you want to pick up the Nokia 8810 and say "I want this." If asked to explain, you might say you like the materials, the size or the weight. It's all of these and none of them. You like the Nokia 8810 because it is well-designed and technicall advanced. But you love it because of a perception of its enduring quality. How do you know? A sixth sense.
Now then, this nokia is another extreamly brilliant idea from the nokia company. It has mostly the same qualaties as the 3210 but more advanced. I think im right when i say this is a WAP phone (that means you can connect to the internet,(what an age we live in)). As many mobile phone now are connected to the internet, well most of them are, that is the mane stading out advantage. This phone is one of the best nokias ever made, its way at the top along with the 3210. out of TEN on a rating scheme,I would give it a... 10 9 ...definatly a 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
When you lok at this phone, you automaticly assume that its a classy phone with bug features. this is an instant mistake. This phone is the over style endulgent predessesor to phones such as the 8210. This phone is basicly as featuless as the early phones that you used to have to carry a car battery round with :). well maby hats a bit extreme, but the battery life is real really bad and basicly the only good thing about the phone is the chrome case, and that tends to rub off with handleing. all in all a real big waste of money! around £300 if you got it wihtout a contract!!
The 8810 model is dressed in a glorious shiny metal case which has that silvery look. This is probably the best looking phone around. The phone is also tiny but that comes at a price-£250. The 8810 has a vibrate alerting system and a infrared modem as standard. The menu system is lovely and the keypad is very comprehensive yet very compact. There is a slider to protect the keypad but unfortunately for those who like to look cool it can only be used when answering calls. What I've said so far portrays this as a diamond but unfortunately there are problems. The internal antenna only provides mediocre reception in areas where the network coverage is best. It is another Nokia with a bad talk time although its stand by time seems to be everlasting. The beautiful cover gets scratched reguarly and needs to be polished if it is to mantain its looks. The phone should have been dual-band and the battery should have been li-ion so if your after looks this ones for you but if not keep away as if it were the plague.
