Ive owned this phone for over 2 years now ok its got the average wear and tear marks of a two year old phone but i gotta say this phone still goes strong. It works as if i brought it y.day , compared to most modern phones that now have cameras and bluetooth this phone still seems to be more of an attention grabber. The blue screen and sharp chrome finished keys still gets people looking. The little ariel which i ocassionally use and have used it foreign countries may seem useless but it certainly does work and picks up those signal bars immediately. The IR port is good to use with my laptop and the built in modem allows me to connect to the internet wherever i am as long as theres a laptop with IR capabilities. The phone was one of the first and most expensive nokias created it still holds its value till this day. Software upgrades are availible with extra menu functions and extra games. The common problems with the 8000 series phones are that the screens tend to go bad this is a simple fix costing no more than 1 pound to fix by replacing the screen elastomer. The 8890 is generally a business mans phone built and designed to be put anywhere. The strong titanium casing protects the phone from any additional damage that can be caused. The phone is believed to be owned by every 1 in 500 people. (Taken from recent statistics) The slider is another thing that can go wrong with these phones but this is also fixed for around 30 - 50 pounds. I would certianly recommend any person considering buying this phone second hand to buy it just because its so verstatile. For being so small this phone has some brilliant talk time and stand by time making the hassle of charging less to worry about. There are great extra items availible for the phone such as the desktop charger and handsfree kit these just add a finishing touch to the phones design.
