Additionally, the Nokia 9210 Communicator is the first Nokia product to support the most commonly used PC office applications - such as Microsoft Office - and the first with wireless Java support. And with bigger and better keys and a wide range of add-on software and accessories, the Nokia 9210 Communicator is designed to meet the demanding needs of mobile professionals and corporate users.

As with most hand-held devices, the only real problem you will have is with AOL mail servers, but this is to be expected from anything AOL. The phone features are all that one would expect. The phone is compatible to view caller-id, although, this is still dependent on your carrier?s features. Crowned Review Nokia 9210: Your digital mobile office... (857 words)
by - written on 29/06/01 (Very useful, 659 readings)
Rating:

As a systems administrator for an Internet consultancy firm, I'm expected to respond to any problems with our servers outside of normal business hours. This has the affect of seriously cutting back on what I can do during the evenings. It was this that prompted me to look at the Nokia Communicator as a mobile "office" so that I could still go out and get the shopping in, or stay in hotels and not having to drag my Sony Vaio laptop with me. I chose the 9210 as it was the latest model to be released from a long line of Communicators. I had originally used the 9000 when it came out and therefore had some idea of what to expect from the unit. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A phone of a pc? Both! (661 words)
by - written on 19/08/02 (Very useful, 299 readings)
Rating:

With all the talk of bluetooth, Cameras on phones and colour screens, the supposed "next generation" phones never quite delivered the goods when they were released about 2 or 3 years ago. The big innovation from Nokia was this phone which folded in half to reveal a small PC within your phone. I was sceptical but at work, we were given them free to try about 6 months ago. I gave mine a good going over and here are the results (although rather late!). Looks/design. ------------- Somewhat odd. With its aluminium loking outer casing, it was trying to jump into the space age and away from the undesirable phone covers that so many people walk around ...  Read the complete review

Nokia 9210: Nokia Communicator 9210 (1325 words)
by - written on 13/07/01
Rating:

Nokia is famous for its intuitive commands and its user-friendly interface, but the 9210 Communicator’s interface is a bit more complicated than the one of the ordinary phones. No wonder you might say, a communicator contains more opportunities than a traditional mobile phone. Of course it does, which is why the 9210 probably will be easier understood by PDA users than regular Nokia pone users. We won't hold this against Nokia, of course, but if you are an average phone user, take our advice and dip into the manual before you try to set the device up for HTML and WML browsing. Unfortunately the Norwegian operator Telenor, which WAP.com uses, had not made an SMS ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 9210 will have you driving around the bend! (1435 words)
by - written on 07/08/01 (Very useful, 712 readings)
Rating:

The Nokia 9210 Communicator is one of the latest models of pda phone available at present. The concept of having a Phone with the features of a handheld PDA device sounds really good but is it really worth the value in money. Now we all know that there is much new technology break through in the mobile industry and I’ve wondered if the Nokia communicator live up to it. Now the idea of the Nokia communicator has been out for some time from Nokia and fell quite flat on their faces. The first one was seen in 1996 with the launch of the first one 9000. The second one that came out was in 1998 that was the model 9110i. Both of these ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Nokia 9210: Your mobile… office (714 words)
by - written on 04/10/01 (Very useful, 362 readings)
Rating:

Nokia’s Communicator sets new standards to the sort of applications consumers should expect in the very near future from their mobile phones. The Nokia 9210 is not a mobile phone that can easily be described. This is simply due to the fact that it offers quite a few heterogeneous characteristics. Despite being a big mobile phone (it’s dimensions are indeed “monstrous”), it offers a huge colour screen (640x200 pixel) with 4096 colours, full keyboard and not forgetting applications such as word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software. It must be noted that the latter are fully compatible with Microsoft’s Office! However, it ...  Read the complete review
