Advantages: Colour screen, expandable, high speed data, ease of use and build quality

Disadvantages: High speed data is network dependant and it's a bit expensive

Wow! As an avid fan of Nokia phones for some time and someone who could not be without his 9110i, the arrival of my 9210 was certainly one to be celebrated. Brimming with all the latest features it can connect to the Internet at a blisteringly fast 43.2Kbps, although note in the UK only Orange offer high speed data at upto 28.8Kbps at present.

As a phone it's got all the usual Nokia touches, the user interface will be familiar to users of the 9110/6110 family of handsets, but it's when you open it up that it becomes truly impressive. With a full colour screen (4096 colours) and a full suite of EPOC applications it is the perfect mobile companion, the mail client can interoperate with all the popular Mail servers including Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes and the 'Office' suite includes word processing, spreadsheet and presentation graphics software which is file compatible with almost every Office suite on the market.

For me, one of the killer applications of the 9210 is the ability to install almost any EPOC based software onto it thus addressing the major criticisms of all the recent 'smartphones' and making the 9210 truly extensible and like the 9110 the memory can be upgraded by using the same memory cards that are used in many digital cameras.

The phone itself is of superb build quality with a brushed silver finish it feels solid and weighty in your hand but overall the size of the handset is excellent. Battery life is also impressive with upto 400 hours standby in PDA mode or 230 hours in Phone/PDA mode!

To summarise, Nokia's third version of the Communicator is a mature and impressive product and a must for any information addict!
