Fab little phone
Member Name: kissandmakeup
Advantages: Easy to use, great price, has a keypad for texting
Disadvantages: None - unless you really, really, really don't like touchscreens!
I have recently purchased this phone after my very old phone finally went kaput! I was gutted because it was an old style phone with buttons, not with a touch screen, and unfortunately I am a slight technophobe, preferring to stick with what I know and I was hanging onto my old phone for dear life!
Anyway, it decided it had just had enough of being dropped and getting wet and so it was time for me to get a new one. There are a few phones about with a keypad rather than touch screens but they are pretty basic and boring, so when I came upon this 'hybrid' I was very pleased!!
As I was an existing O2 customer I got some money off this phone, but even at full price at Phones 4 U it would only have cost £59.99 on pay as you go. I got the phone in white and metallic pink, but it is also available in black.
Basically the phone has a keypad, which slides down, for texting & typing - which is ideal for me as I hate using a touch screen to text! - but it also has a touch screen for most other functions. For someone who isn't used to using a touch screen I can say that this has been very easy to get to grips with, the menu is clear, all the functions are easy to find and use and overall I am extremely pleased with it for the price. Sometimes when tapping on the touch screen I have to do it a couple of times, though I'm not sure how much this is the phone being awkward or whether it is user error! The only annoying thing really is that the phone locks really quickly, for instance when you are in the middle of typing a text and you pause for a minute you have to then unlock the phone again to carry on, I have looked through the manual and gone through every option on the phone settings and there appears to be no way of altering this, so that it doesn't lock for say 2 minutes.
By going online to Nokia Ovi I am able to download various apps and games to the phone, again this was very easy to use, and many of these are free which is great.
The phone has all the basic functions you would expect; calendar, to do list, calculator, radio, internet access, notes function, camera (2 mp) etc. I have yet to upload any music to the phone but from what I can work out this is also pretty easy to do.
Overall this is a good phone for anyone who doesn't want a really complicated phone with a million different functions that will basically do anything apart from make you a cup of tea! It offers the basic phone functions we have all come to expect, but is modern, looks good and is easy to use.
Summary: A great, basic little phone!
