Advantages: Well built, good battery life for a smart phone

Disadvantages: Functional, very few frills or fun bits

The Nokia E5 is the latest in the line of business orientated phones, and is built to a high standard. It feels slim in the hand, solid and well built, with a metal battery cover adding a little bit of class to the simple yet functional design. The buttons are ridged making it easy to type on the qwerty keypad, and also allowing the phone to avoid being too wide. The screen is sharp enough for most uses, and the camera is suprisingly good especially as this phone is not an N Series phone with their flashy lenses etc.

The operating system is Symbian, which seems to have barely evolved over the past 5 years but runs smoother than previous versions. Android and Iphone OS's are much slicker, better looking and have more apps, but the Symbian system works well and can be personalised easily. The home screen can be customised to reduce the need to keep dipping into the menu and the shortcut keys on the phone help to make using the phone much more efficient.

The phone is aimed at business people and excels at email and messaging. The qwerty keyboard is excellent, easy to use and comfortable. Several email accounts can be set up on the phone and switched between simply, and the whole setup has been designed to make things easy and practical.

Wifi is very good on this phone, and when connected the phone browses the internet very well, although the screen is small so it is a pain to browse for long periods. The battery life is excellent, usually three or four days with light Wifi usage.

Overall this phone is very well built, does what you need from a phone, but if you are looking for games, and fun stuff you may want to look at an android device.

Summary: Great phone if you dont mind the lack of fun!
