Nokia E61

I had this phone for nearly 2 years until it got stolen! I loved this phone because I find it really smart, simple and easy to use. Although it can get really frustrating at times because it can get very slow. Phone calls: good quality Keypad: Qwerty, too tiny pads but you'll get used to it. Battery life: I would usually charge every other night unless I use the internet. I bought this phone without really doing any research and was disappointed that it had so little features. I love all things gadget and would like to have seen at least the most basic of features such as a camera or at most something a bit different, but i was bored of it within a day. I think the phone would be best used as a work phone, an organiser, or for someone who really isn't into the frills and fancy stuff and just doesnt spend alot of time using their phone (unlike me!) On a practical side the keypad is pretty small, luckily i have small fingers so didn't struggle too much but i would imagine large fingers would have a hard job. When my company implemented the No camera phone policy, I decided to get the E61 after going through Nokia's long list of phones. The E61 fits well on my palm & since my fingers are long, I can easily operate it with one hand. I like the big screen which is useful when viewing documents & browsing. Phone response is fast enough ( faster than the Nokia N73). The QWERTY keyboard style is small & I typically use my finger nail to select the keys. I have had this phone for a year now, and I've used it a lot. I bought it because I needed to get online without a phone line (I live on a boat, so no landlines), and it has been excellent in this regard, happily connecting to my Linux powered laptop and other people's windows machines. The only bad bits are the rubbish integrated browser, the frankly embarassing PC suite software (it doesn't work, Google Nokia PC suite and see what I mean) and slightly lacklustre build quality (the phone charging socket developed a dodgy connection after a couple of months, now I need to use a universal charger with an everso slightly larger plug in order to charge it). ...  Read the complete review
