== Introduction ==
This is made by Nokia and is targeted primarily at the business user. Although, this is suitable for anyone. It was released in mid 2008. I personally have owned the E66 for the past year or so.
== Hardware - Appearance / case / battery ==
It has a solid feel to it. On the outside, it has a metal casing apart from the keys which are plastic which I have found quite handy. I tend to drop my phone quite a lot and so far it is still working fine. It looks pretty stylish and I wouldn't say it was all that big.
This is a slide phone but unlike say the N95 it doesn't feel like a toy. The slide action is very solid when you push it up to reveal the keypad.
The power button is at the top of the phone and it has a 2.5mm headphone jack on the left hand side and the volume keys on the right.
It has an GPS reciever which I find can take several minutes to lock onto a signal and it has a 3mp camera which gives average quality images.
The battery lasts usually 2 to 3 days before I need to charge it again and it doesn't take that long to charge at all. I'd say about an hour. Reception has been excellent even in rural settings.
== Sofware / Operating System ==
It runs the Simbion operating system, Series 60 V3. When compared to the N95 this phone seems to load applications much faster.
There is one application that I find very useful on this and it is the free GPS navigation app, Ovi Maps. This can also play mp3 files and you can download podcasts which I use to listen to when I go to the gym. It has a 2.5mm headphone jack but I bought an adapter off Ebay for about £3 that means I can use normal 3.5mm headphones with it.
The only problem I have with it is that every few days I have to reboot the phone as I get an 'out of memory' error. I think it may have something to do with the text messaging application.
I have not found many useful 3rd party applications to use with it but this may be because it has the main ones I need already in-built with the phone.
== Accessibility ==
For people with a visual impairment or the elderly who may have problems with their hands, the keys on this are tactile and easy to find. This also makes it easier to text or if you are in the dark. It also has a feature whereby you can have it announce the name of the person calling you which I found handy.
You can buy a program called Talks which is some screenreading software that will allow you to hear whatever's displayed on screen and it also comes with a magnifier as well.
== Conclusion ==
I can recommend this phone for someone who wants a cheap and simple mid-range smartphone to use for music, GPS web browsing and email. You can also watch Youtube flash videos on this unlike the Iphone.

This is very stylish E-series ex-flagship phone, which came out with its brother E71, about a year and half ago.
E66 is a slider, without a qwerty keyboard (which E71 had). However, one thing it did have (which E71 didn't) was the acclerometer, allowing auto screen rotation.
Equipped with the same features as E71, Nokia E66 is extremely stylish business phone, with Symbian OS, 370MHz processor, allowing fast task managing and processing. 3.2MP is the disappointing downside, as well as 2.5mm audio jack, instead of the 3.5mm jack. It has a 2.4inch screen, perhaps a little small for our current technology era, but neverthless, enough to view all your needs. The keypad underneath the screen is half clear, which makes adds to the styling and its futuristic looks. The back panel is of course embedded with chrome steel, heightening its looks.
For those who prefer sliders and can live without a qwerty keyboard, this is for you (rather than E71). The downsides for me was the camera & the lack of audio jack.
I got this phone as a present 4 months ago, and i am very happy with it. It is really easy to operate. I could even setup my email on it and i am no genuis at doing these things.
It gives you instructions step by step, not only in the booklet, but the phone has its own help section.
I have put all my music on it and the sound is not bad either.Photo quality is reasonable and internet browsing is easy to do.
The only thing is that it seems to freeze like a computer would ever now and then. When it does, i have to switch off completely, wait a minute, and switch it on again before it starts to operate.
I can syncronise it onto my computer, which i never thought i would ever be able to do. It has easy access to all the sections with one button.
All in all, i am very happy with the phone and i can recommend it to anyone.
I always like Nokia phones but there are some other brands also have excellent phones so that I can't ignore that also. So I have tested almost all brands and now again going to discuss new phone from Nokia in business series that is called as E series.
Nokia E66 is great in many terms and the first and very interesting feature you will definitely like that is its attractive slim sliding design. Phone has a very beautiful look with dimension is about 107.5 x 49.5 x 13.6 mm, and it has a sliding design. I like most of sliding phones as they really look attractive and beautiful. Most of the phones in sliding category have thicker than this one, this phone has only 13.6mm thickness and it is really a slim phone in sliding category phones.
Display size is an average with 240 x 320 pixels resolution screen, about 2.4 inches and the TFT screen can support up to 16 million colors. 16 million colors what we have in mobile phones, is maximum resolution available.
The memory is interesting feature in any mobile phone, but there is no problem if phone support any external card. We can put any card size as per our requirement. Phone has good ARM 11 369 MHz processor for fast speed access and there are internal RAM of about 128 MB. This is most important feature of the phone and it really works fast in any conditions. Phone also has internal storage capacity with inbuilt 110 MB internal memory, for message, JAVA applications and internal storage like messaged etc.
Phone also support microSD (TransFlash) card with up to 8GB maximum memory and phone also have hotswap technology. Hotswap technology is more important for data security in card. We can remove card without making phone switch off. If we remove card without making phone off in non-hotswap technology, than there are more probability of data loss. So have peace of mind while removing card.
Phone is completely dominated for business users so that this is essential that this phone have almost all connectivity features. There are GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, and most important features like 3G with about 3.6 Mbps speed support, WLAN that is also called as Wi-Fi with 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and very interesting Infrared port, why Nokia has provided infrared port in such advanced technology? I don't know but there is hardly any connectivity feature which is not available in this phone. And at last I want to say that this phone has USB also with v2.0 microUSB.
Music, Camera, battery etc
Previously we have seen in Nokia E51, the phone has almost all important features like this but there were two versions available of E51. One of them doesn't have camera, means camera-free version and other one has camera. I always prefer phone without camera but there are some phones available which have really good camera so we can't avoid them.
This phone has good 3.15 MP camera (generally it is call as 3.2 MP camera),with maximum 2048x1536 pixels resolution pictures, has good autofocus, video recording ability but only QVGA with15fps, also have flash but it only for filling feature table.
Phone has Average MP3 player and FM radio, and there is a good battery capacity with Standard lithium ion battery, Li-Ion 1000 mAh (BL-4U), with about 7 hours of talktime. Overall entire phone will really attract you. Recommended.
