Advantages: Nice style, qwerty
Disadvantages: Camera, Mp3 player, smallish screen
I was given the white version of E71 as a gift, when this was released back in Winter 2008. Nokia E71 screams business, and it also screams style.
Covered in chrome (and in my case) high quality white plastic, this phone was a looker. The Qwerty keyboard allowed fast typing (though at times, the keys were a little too small) and SYmbian OS didn't let me down - fast, responsive and prompt - always a plus for someone who likes things to be done quickly. The buttons on the front are shortcuts for 'business' apps such as 'calendar', 'Home', 'Contacts' etc, wich just a touch of a button.
I did not use the email clients but texting is brilliant as well as writing notes. Call quality is as clear as it can get, with nice loud speakers.
There were heavy down sides for me: no 3.5mm audio jack, and an adopter reduced the sound quality.
Camera of 3.2mp (which sounds ok on a sheet) was mediocre - only good enough pictures in perfect conditions aka, bright, well lit areas with right sunlight reflections.
Even though this screams business, it did not scream enough entertainment - and I'm not asking 'too much', because now is the era of all-rounders, and the price of around 300, you do have to expect more than just a business phone.
Summary: Quick, fast machine for business
