Advantages: has everything that you would need in a smart phone
Disadvantages: battery life
what can I say about this, I am currently using the phone to write this review on. I got this phone 3 months back now after an upgrade and I love the phone.
This is one off the best smart phones that I have used, it has everything that you would need to use- gps, Wifi, camera, qwerty keyboard, large screen, bluetooth, infrared, built in modem. To start off with the phone looks really good, I have the steel version and the finish is great it really stands out with the metal look and back metal plate. Also it has the perfect weight distribution. The phone is also quite well built as I have dropped my phone on the concrete a few times now and have only seen marks on the casing and not really any internal damage. The built it gps is really good as with this I am able to use softwares such as garmin or nokia maps to be able to go places using a navigation system and not carry an extra bluetooth gps device. The gps connects fairly quickly when the skys are clear.
The built in Wifi is also good as it works well within the house, however I do not use this as much as I have unlimited internet on the phone. It comes with a high quality 3.2 mega pixel camera, which is really good outdoors. The camera quality is really outstanding. For indoors use there is a flash but it is not all that powerful good enough for short range. the camera also has a really good macro mode, that picks up writing really well, there is also an application that also printed text to be scanned into a word document on the phone!
The qwerty keyboard is I think the right size, however I do have small fingers so that could be the reason. The lighting on the phone is perfect it is able to detect when to switch on or off the backlight such as when in the dark or not. There are many applications for this smart phone available and most of these are great, I have recently installed a voice recognition application that allows for me to talk and it turns it into text.
The battery life of the phone is really good if you don't use any of the applications or the internet, but aaron I have my internet on 24/7 for my emails it means the phone lasts for around 12 hours, which means I charge my phone daily overnight. The down side of the phone would be that at many time the phone does freeze which means you have to reset it, however I believe that this should be fixed in the next firmware update.
Overall this phone is fantastic and with the e72 coming out soon that will be a better phone, with a 5 mega pixel camera, but those who want to buy a similar phone for less then I would defiantly recommend this phone to you.
Summary: my best phone to date

- 24/11/09 Agree - it is a stunning looking phone. You can pick up a replacement case on EBay for a few pounds if you want to return it to its former glory and they're really easy to fit! Nice review. |
