Advantages: Slim, good picture and video quality, superb sound, excellent navigation, good for games and music
Disadvantages: Slow web browsing, crowded screen
Before i acquired the iphone5, i had a Nokia N8 for close to two years and thought i should share with you my experience of using it. I was very excited about this phone when it first came out in 2010 because i have been a lifelong Nokia fan. Sizewise, the phone is compact and small enough to disappear in your pocket although i preferred Samsung Galaxy S's thinnness. The 3.5'' screen to me is overcrowded with a home screen, menu screen and app screen which makes userbility cumbersome as you have to switch in between different screen modes; a time killer. Web browsing experience is a let down compared to other smart phones but it supports all the major email applications. If you are looking for a phone with seamless social media integration and web apps, the N8 is not the phone for you. However in terms of features, this is still one of the best out there. The video and picture quality is perfect and you can upload your pictures to Facebook and Twitter directly. 3D games has to be one of my favorite features on the phone. The maps are pretty good for navigation and you dont have to worry about getting lost when the phone looses connection as you can store the maps on the OVI Maps. N8 comes with 16GB internal memory which you can upgrade to 32GB through a micro SD card. I like the power adaptor with the central pin that slides in and out particularly useful if you are a frequent traveller. The headphones stream in decent music and also the built in speakers provide good audio quality. With the arrival of more advanced smartphones like iphone5, the N8 has been left behind.
Summary: Not as smart as the smartest smartphones out there
