Good phone, would never rule it out as a top one.

I have now had this phone for 17 months and it has been a very good phone. I have had a few problems with it due to water damage, but leaving the phone off and left to dry will bring it back to life.

Adding applications, such as games and Gmail, have been a doddle and very easy to use.

Only couple of annoyances is the camera light is poor, but it is only a mobile phone, and the play button is right next to the C button, so my fingers slip and press play, which is not good when in meetings and lectures.

Sending and recieving messages is just like any other Nokia phone and once used to the dictionary is very easy to use. Phone calls very good quality and rarely have no signal (O2).

Slide functionality also very good and has not broken after all this time. Lock mechanism is also very good.

Memory on the phone is also very good. Can store 16GB.

Good phone dont buy for WAP

I have had this phone for about 9months now and have just upgraded to a new one.
Nokia are generally very good and I did like this phone but I do think there are better phones out there for the same or similar price.

The camera takes pretty good photos and has a flash even though the megapixel is not that high.

You can send sms messages easily and also mms and video messages.

Searching the WAP on this phone is not that great and can be pretty slow. The screen is not really big enough to browse the web properly.
The phone also has Nokia Maps but to use the GPS on this phone you need to buy a seperate signal reciever which does not cost that much but most phones come with these built in now.

There is a seperate button on the top of this phone to lock the keypad. This can sometimes unlock itself so be careful with this as you may cal someone by accident.

This is a good phone but I reckon you can get more for your money.

      nokia n81

Well I don't think anyone can argue that this phone doesn't look good, and it was certainly one of the reasons of which I purchased the phone in the first place. There was other reasons but ill go into them later on.

Ok, so firstly ill go into the look of the product, the colour on the specification says its warm silver/brown. However when you get it in your hands it looks more like a black and dark silver/brown colour. Also the back panel of the phone has tiny speckles that reflect light and makes it look ever so stylish.
This nokia has a 2.4 inch screen. This screen is great quality and is really good for watching movies and pictures you have taken on.

I wouldn't describe this phone as heavy or even a bit bulky, however it is larger than some other phones but this is really the perfect size for me.
The sliding mechanism on this phone is great, it feels sturdy when you slide it, not like some phones when you slide them you feel as though the tops going to separate from the bottom leaving you with two un working pieces of phone.

This phone features a navi wheel, I find this great scene as iv had an ipod before I got one of these and I just find it a lot easier and quicker to flick through your images, songs and other thing on your phone.
However this navi wheel seems a little less prone to contact than the ipod ones, what I mean by that is you have to press a little harder to use it, whereas on the ipod you have to barely touch the wheel to scroll through your songs.
The main reason I got this phone, was because I was bored with my ipod and I wanted a phone with an mp3 on it. Well I couldn't afford an I phone, and scene as this has a massive 8 gb of storage space, I though this must be the next best thing.
The layout for playing the music is very simple and I love having all my music on my phone so I can either play it loud to people, or plug in my earphones and listen to it in private.

The camera on this phone is great too, its 2mp which Is really clear and sharp. Also because the screens so good its great for seeing everything you've taken.
Altogether this phone is great if you love your music, and just for music alone, I would say its as good as an ipod, if not better, and because you have all your phone things built in too, as well as games and even the chance to take pictures and videos, then this phone is great. So I say if you have an ipod kicking about, sell it, and get some extra cash together, go out and buy this phone. Because trust me its really good.

What you have come to expect from nokia.

Overall this phone is good. It's a little tricky to get used to the buttons as they are a little fiddly and can be slippery. The OS can lag a bit sometimes but its nothing too major. There are loads of useful extras on here! The 8 GB of memory is a good development in terms of phone mp3 but it still does not compare with an ipod, it lacks the software and is very slow at transferring music between the computer and the phone. The battery life is very good on this phone provided you dont spend the whole day listening to tunes or taking photos etc... The wifi works pretty well too, though it is quite sifficult to focus on the browser as it is quite small, not quite as good compared to the fantastic iphone which will be my next phon for sure. If you're after a nokia, this one is good.

      Brilliant

Nokia N81/ vodafone / pay as you go/ black

I have to admit im a bit of a phone freak. I very rarely keep my phones for longer than 6 months. When i purchased this nokia N81 i was a bit stumped at first, it has an extensive menu, which i must admit i got a bit lost. After having a little play and reading the manual for a short while i have now mastered this phone and i know there are still certain things i havent found yet. The music player is great and with it being an 8gb memory there is no need to carry your mp3 around with you anymore, the sound out of the phone is brilliant with or without the headphones. It has a good camera even though its only a 2mega pix. You can play N-Gage games on this phone which i have tried and are fantastic, there are special buttons on either end of the phone which enables you to keep the phone closed making it more stable to play the games. You can lock and unlock the keys whith a switch slinde on top of the phone, this means you dont have to keep sliding the phone open to activate the keys.
I could write on and on about this phone but i wont continue to bore you :)
In conclusion this is a fantastic phone, good looking, great for your music, and gaming. There is probably more which i havent found yet. Best purchase in a while
