Advantages: 5mpx Camera, MP3 player, Inbuilt GPS
Disadvantages: All these goodies can slow it down and cause it to freeze
The Nokia N95s design, simplicity, 5MPX camera, MP3 Player, memory size, battery life and of course, the in built GPS receiver are the features which made this an easy decision to make!
I had owned a Nokia N72 for around 18 months and had added a few extras over the years. I had purchased a GPS received (£15) from ebay and the TomTom software (£60) onto a 1GB memory card (£5 ebay). The phone now doubled up as a sat nav for only an extra £80, and there was no need to carry around an additional bit of kit the size of house phone!
So I had expectations when it came to the N95, and it sure did deliver. I transferred the software to my N95 and purchased a new memory card, no need for the GPS receiever anymore so I had sat nav in the palm of my hand, which then double up as a mobile phone!
The battery life was pretty good, not quite what the book says (I got around 4 days), but my last phone only lasted 2 so this was a great step up.
The 5mpx camera is outstanding with some cool features, black and white, sepia, night mode, but it won't replace my digital camrea anytime soon, very handy yo have though!
The design is neat, though the buttons feel pretty small for anyone with short nails, as always though, it's just getting used to it.
The MP3 lpayer is great, really cool design by sliding it up for the MP3 player and down for the Phone.
On occassion the phone will freeze, but this appears to happen to all modern Nokias, I think it's due to it being overloaded with features just not necessary.
the nokia pc suite is as good as ever, making it very simple to move data to and from your mobile phone, making it easy to back up information and share!
A great phone, I've recently upgraded to an LG Viewty but I now use my N95 as a Sat Nav! Talk about recycling eh?
The price has dropped quite a lot since it's initial release, mainly due to the iPhone being serious competition. You can now get the phone free on selected contract tariffs, but avoid cashback deals :)
Summary: Worth getting now that the price has dropped
