      Hello Kitty phone

My daughter loves pretty pink things, so when we decided that it was time she got her own little phone, it was easy to pick this okwap i516 phone. The colour of it is pink and white and it has a really lovely design that kids can appreciate, and the fact that my daughter loves Hello Kitty and this has the cartoon drawings all over it, I knew she would love this little phone. It is made in Hong Kong, and although some products from there can sometimes be bad quality, that is not the case for this item. It has a flip up screen, which is something I thought gave it a modern edge, and I think my daughter really liked it too. When I received the phone by post, it came along with a instruction manual, a charger and two spare batteries, the batteries do need charging for ten hours before using for the first time. The screen is great, plenty big enough and bright and clear to see, and even though the phone is small the screen is still good and does the job. The functions on this phone are very basic, calling, texting, phonebook, date and time and basic things like this, is what you can expect from it. One thing you can do with it, which my daughter loves is take pictures, and I found the camera and picture quality is good, but not outside. This item was probably not one of my best purchases paying nearly sixty pounds for it, but it has lasted and my daughter has got some use out of it, but I am sure I could have got something better for cheaper, If I had looked around.

Pretty and pink but not practical

Ever since i was a kid i had a huge love for all things pretty and pink this has never left me and even now I cant resist. Hello kitty is extremely cute and whilst my girls love hello kitty i secretly do too.
On browsing ebay a few months ago i found this super cute hello kitty mobile phone and had to have it. The down side is the okwap i516 phones are made in hong kong witch i was dubious about but bought it anyway.

The hello kitty okwap i516 phone cost £59.00 from ebay with free postage.
As the phone come from hong kong i had to wait around three weeks for it to arrive. The phone comes with a cute hello kitty box covered in cartoon drawings of the kitty with a handle on the box it looked as if it was a childs toy more than a phone. Inside the box was the handset, instruction manual with poor english, a charger and two spare batteries. The phone had to be charged for ten hours before i could try it out. My phone is unlocked so can use any sim cards and as i with o2 the signal is good on the phone.

The handset is small, light and has a flip up screen. When the screen is up the buttons and speaker are on the bottom half, buttons are really small and some people would struggle to push the buttons however i managed ok.
I was impressed with the screen being 7cm tall, it was bright and easy to read. I also like the phone for the size it fits into the palm of my hand, looks, feels small and compact. Decoration of the phone is mainly pink and white with a cute image of hello kitty on the front and back of the phone in eye catching pearl paint so looks shimmery in the daylight.

There are no cool functions on this phone really, the ring tones are very basic mostly involve a ringing sound no cool music tunes or songs. This is a camera phone but with only 1 mp , it takes very low poor quality images mostly blurry even when taken in the daylight outside not good.
Okwap i516 phones have the basics of a normal phone, fm,text, phone book, alarm clock, wall papers of hello kitty only, calculator, date and time. The phonebook holds up to 100 phone numbers and the inbox of the text messages hold 50 so should be deleted as soon as it reaches the limit because the new messages wont get through to the phone.

I was really disappointed with the phone, the description of the phone really sold it to me but was way over exaggerated however as i don't use my mobile everyday it is not a problem. I use my phone around three times a week to text a message or make a call and the phone fits my needs as well as being easy to use so i am happy.

I would not recommend this phone to people who use their mobiles everyday as i think it could really be annoying especially with the small push buttons when texting. I would recommend this to hello kitty fans for its cuteness but as a phone pretty useless.

        2 stars only for this.

i would not buy this phone

I have never seen this phones before but it does look like a kiddys play thing.

This phone is pink which is very good. But i am not liking the kitty...if the kitty was taken of the phones and improved it would be better.

Probably this phone would cost around £100 or over if it had camera video or mp3 player..i like the fact that it is decorated but not with a cat.

But it is everyone to there only personal taste.
