Advantages: The size and weight, Cute animations, The WAP function
Disadvantages: The plain look, The stiff key-pad
I've had this phone for over 1 1/2 years now, and when I first got it - I was so surprised at how much such a small, light phone could do, but now I'm doubting it's ability as a modern-day phone. The functions of the phone are as follows: Phonebook -> Well, just an average 'on -your- simcard' 100 name phonebook. Easy to scan through for names, and easy to insert new names and numbers. A good, decent, normal phonebook for easy use. Text messaging -> Predictive texting, and normal texting as well. Easy and simple to use, but the buttons on the keypad are a bit stiff, and need some getting used to, but over-all, texting is easy to do on this phone. Making a call -> Easy as anything - just dial the number and press the little 'phone' button. Ending and making calls are easy. This phone can also store numbers in the phone book whilst you are making a phone call, which is quite useful. No special voice features to make calls, but the main thing - it's VERY easy to make a call. Games -> The Panasonic GD35 has one game : Connect 4, which is cool to play at first (there are 6 different levels of difficulty) but gets very boring after a while. The game on this phone is more for playing for a few secs whilst waiting for a mate to show up, but definately not for proper entertainment on the train or something. 'Special' Features -> The phone has a WAP function, which means it connects to the Internet, which is cool, but on many occasions, I've found myself a pound less well off, because the button gets pressed in my bag and I'm on the Internet without knowing it, so don't forget to lock the keypad! The internet connection is quite good, but on my tarif, is very expensive. The internet is hard to understand and get to grips with, but when you've mastered the art of going on the sites and you've got used to the small screen,
it's quite a useful function to have. There are two animations which you can choose to apply to the phone. A little dog or a little penguin, which are very cute, and show up when you turn the phone on/off and when you send a text message. Apart from that, though, there aren't many more great special features. There's a clock, an alarm and a calculator. The alarm's great! It really wakes up in the morning! The ringtones on this phone are boring, and you can't send or recieve tones through texts. There are 20 programmed tones, and there is no ringtone composer. In conclusion, this is no phone for someone who wants a fashion phone, because it comes with one, basic, black cover, which can't be changed and can't recieve any modern rigntones. It has the internet, but it's really quite hard to use. It's a plain, useful and easy -to-use phone, and it's lasted me long enough without any complaints. Of course, like all phones, there some faults, but those are hardly noticeable, really. I would recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't want to follow the crowd by getting a Nokia, and doesn't want any fancy, difficult to use, functions.
