Advantages: Thiner than most photo messenging phones, Nice easy display, Nice Ringtones

Disadvantages: Texting will become annoying, Lack of games, Menus are hard to find

I have had this phone for a year now, I really thought that I would be entering the new age of technology with the Photo features. I would soon realise that there is a long way to go if the manufacturers are going to get people to use it as often as text messages. But the problems just start there.

Originally the phone seemed better than the Sharp GX10i. The picture was and is sharper, the menu is easier to see and handle. The polyphonic ring tones were of a better mix, and best of all, the Sharp is thicker and bulkier than the Panasonic. There could only be one winner. Couldnt there?

Aside from the troubles we had with Vodafone in setting up Vodafone Live (Which still is not working, although they kindly gave us £50 in compensation), the phone quickly became boring and there were a few glitches that need to be sorted.

Lets start with the fun stuff, the games. Errr well sort of, one game, which is very boring and holds your interest for about, ohhh, 2 levels. Its a sheep dog game that is slow to respond and serves no real purpose.

The ring tones are ok but there is only one very nice fast dance type track on there, and after that, who cares about the rest.

The buttons when texting will get on your already frayed nerves, you press the button, but does D appear? No!! In fact any letter can be missed even though you swear you pressed it. It?s not easy to get used to all the hidden menus either.

The main menus themselves although clear in design take a lot of getting used to, some sub menus are well hidden.

Well to bring this review to a close, the phone has other minor defects as well like the stupid click noise when you take a photo, and you cant turn it off!!

Anyway, this phone is ok I suppose but really, save your money and wait for something that will be much better. Me? Well I am going back to Nokia, see you soon.

Argh! If only I had read this review BEFORE I had bought the phone! I agree with you entirely about this phone - it's much sexier than the others (that were available at the time) but the text messaging is a shambles! I thought I was going mad about the "missing" letters thing until I read your review. However, the clicky noise when taking pictures doesn't bother me, because it was put there on purpose to prevent people taking pictures of people without them noticing (i.e. to stop the perves amoung us) which is a good thing. That said, crap game, crap ringtones, unpractical melody composer, and crap buttons! Well done

Welcome to dooyoo!

I have heard good and bad about this phone and I did consider having it but I decided to stick to my Siemens C45 for now and hopefully upgrade to the SL55.
