Advantages: Cheap to buy if you're desperate ! !
Disadvantages: It's ok if you're physically challenged in the hand/fingers department !
OK, so I can't help it if I have dyslexic hands and my brain can't always control them!! How was I to know that my cup of tea would jump up and pour itself all over my lovely samsung phone that I adored???? (Oooops no insurance!). So, on the realisation that I had to get a replacement phone, out I went into the vast beyond to find one that was cheap enough to take my still working sim card from my tea-filled samsung.
I eventually stumbled upon this Philips 355. I bought it for £45, and actually got a free cd player with it. I then promptly took it along to my local mobile phone wizard to be unblocked so it would take my vodafone sim card. The bloke in the shop smirked at me when he saw it (should have known then), and said he could unblock it in three days. Three days later........
First of all the buttons are a pretty hexagonal shape, which whilst looking like cutie little honeycombs, are very flat, and very close together. I DO NOT have big hands, but found it terrible not to catch the wrong keys.
Next the centre menu button is one of the swivel ones that you move in each direction to access the menus. The reaction of this button is almost delayed, so even if you get to the right section, you then have to wait while it decides to let you in.
The camera quality leaves a lot to be desired, and the general screen quality is blurry too.
As for the tunes- do you really want a 'happy horse' ringing in your handbag whilst in the shopping aisles!!?
Finally, texting takes forever, even on predictive, because you have to use that centre button again for a space- press it too hard and the phone bleeps at you!!
The battery is ok I suppose, but that's the only good thing I can think of.
Ok, so in summary I wouldn't recommend it, and yes I got what I paid for didn't I?? (Oh yes- one more thing-I've dropped it a few times and can't break it- maybe I'll go for the cup of tea again??!)
Summary: Don't bother try carrier pigeon instead!!!
