Advantages: A free number

Disadvantages: Poor build quality, unreliable and expensive(tariff)

My first mobile phone was a Philips C12 on BTCellnet pay and go. It cost me £80 from Argos. For the first month or so I loved it, the phone was really good and the free number was an excellent feature to have. However once I had owned it for a few months it just seemed to deteriorate. I looked after it really well I mean Im not one of these people that throws their phone around and couldn't care less.

When I say deteriorate I don't mean the odd scratch the buttons started to wear off, the buttons failed to operate, and then the more major problems like not ending calls, coming up with NO SIM when I turned it on. In all the build quality was very poor and I regreted spending my hard earned cash on such a poor phone.

Then I made the best decision I have ever made with electronics equiptment I bought my mates old phone, a Nokia 5146 on one2one for only £50. I am thoroughly satisfied with the build quality and the phones features and best of all I have had no problems what so ever. All this from a second hand phone for £50.

Even if I did scratch the cover or damage the buttons it wouldn't matter because of the exchangable covers. The one thing I do miss is the free best friend but that is not to say that the one2one tariff is poor because its not infact in all the tariff suits me better because the text messages are cheaper and the call charges are lower as well.

So if you are thinking about saving yourself £40 and in going for a C12 as opposed to any of the Nokia series my advice is don't. Go for Nokia!!!

I sometimes get the No Sim error too - and the charger has
a pretty lousy connetor on it, which broke far too easily..

Other than that had no problems with it.
