Advantages: Small and tells you the time
Disadvantages: Nothing
Potted History of my relationships with mobile phones. Swore I'd never have one. First time I used one was my mum's back in 1994, on my way to Bishop's Stortford, stuck in traffic on the M11, late for a meal with friends. Decided I wanted one for Christmas several years ago, as I was doing a lot of travelling at the time. Changed my mind. New job, everyone got one, started to think about getting one, boyfriend said it was peer pressure. Sisters-in-law told me to get one if I wanted one. In the end he capitulated and I got one, the Phillips C12 on BT Cellnet. I loved it. It went with me everywhere. Made sure that I kept in contact with sisters-in-law on a regular basis, sent text messages with funny icons. I found it ever so easy to use, I am a bit of a wombat when it comes to little electronic things, but I found my way around the keypad like a dream. Very reasonable to text people, 5p a shot, until I discovered free SMS on the web. I haven't really spend a fortune in the 6 or so months I have had it. I do take it to work with me and when I am driving by myself, but I tend to leave it at home if I am out at weekends, so that people from work can't contact me! I only have 21p on there at the moment, but that's okay, I am not using it, except for an alarm clock that I wouldn't be without. The Phillips C12 is a little star, fits in most pockets or holes, doesn't perform magic tricks, but if you're a normal person like me, you're glad it can tell you the time, because a lot of those super-duper tiny little phones can't! I paid £29.99 for mine with £10 worth of calls and I wouldn't change it if you paid me - well, only for dooyoo miles!!!
