Advantages: You can ring someone anywhere.
Disadvantages: You pay a gig price
The promise of 2p a minute on BTCELLNET but wait a minute I have a BTCELLNET phone and I never get 2p a minute. Just leaving a message on my answer phone costs about 8p and thats for a couple of seconds. so where is this promise of 2p a minute there because i don't know about you but i certainly don't get it. If there was a network for 2p a minute i would trade mine for that network but it seems to me every network promises and none actually give.

- 08/01/01 I have a friend who ignored my advice to acquire a Savvy on the cost effective VirginMobile/One2One setup, instead plumping for BT.
Like me, he'd never owned a mobile phone but was persuaded to buy a BT Cellnet Savvy by those kind, considerate and caring (!) folk at The Link.
Now I've had my phone since July, starting off with a £10 voucher, yet today I still have £6.88 credit remaining. It's achieved by only using the phone when necessary and using my computer to send short SMS messages to others via the genie.co.uk website free of charge.
On the other hand, my friend has had his BT Cellnet phone for nearly a week now, hasn't made one phone call yet, and is left mystified why he only has just over £7 credit remaining.
I can only presume its through using it to check voicemail etc all free with Virgin, but it helps to demonstrate that the 2p a minute claim is not worth a light.
As for those people who spend up to £15 a month line rental and similar prices to me to actually make calls, I feel they must have more money than sense. Virgin charges are 15p for the first five minutes (it used to be 30p for the first two minutes) and 5p a minute afterwards for the rest of the day.
It's very easy to make a quick call, convey your message and finish at minimal cost, as the calls are timed by the second. |

- 07/01/01 Your opinios will get held if they don't meet the correct standard for Dooyoo, this is not an easy site to make money on, consider this when writing your opinions, they need to be better than this to generate more reads, this is what earns you the money, if you want to be paid for short writings and have no one complain about it try ciao.com . |
