My current phone..
I have had all flavours of phones over the years, but never a blackberry. I have read about the hype and seen they are favoured highly across the pond in the US, so when my contract was up rof renewal i thought what the hell...
Well firstly the 8800 is a very nice built phone that captures the essence of the market it is geared at supurbly. The phone is very stylish looking and has a nice solid feel.
I set up the email straight away to see if it would live up to the hype. Well.....Well.......welll
WOW....... That is all i can say, i had never experienced "PUSH EMAIL" and in truth did not know much about it. To explain "PUSH EMAIL" is where an oline server recieves your email and forwards it onto your phone real time. Most phones on the market rely on your device to poll them and check for new mail, this can be set to every 5 mins ,1 hour or 1 time a day etc etc.........So you get the mail when your device looks for it...
On the 8800 you get it when it arrives, the 8800 also comes with free data minutes as part of the contract to fully enable you to use the phone as it was designed for. Internet browsing is also great as the device is set to go to the mobile version of the web site as standard, making borwsing very quick indeed.
I have added Yahoo meseenger, MSN messenger and face book to my black berry with specific desgined apps built for this purpose alone, all appz work flawlessly and i can say i am very happy with this device. In fact i fear i may be a blackberry convert and rather than go for the iphone when i change my contract i will upgrade to the blackberry storm :).
The 880 has a lovely Qwerty keyboard and they keys are real easy to use as they are layed out well and have raised ridges to enable fast precise typing.
The phone can accomodate up to 4GB on a mini sd card and as such can house loads of photos, music or films. Also the earphones on this machine are possibley the best i have ever had supplied with a phone
No this device does not come with a camerra, but if i am honest i find they get clogged with dirt and i do not use them anyway, if you are after a communication device that can communicate over any media, SMS, MMS, Internet, email or Voice call, i strongly suggest you get this phone
Summary: Great phone and all round communication device
