Sagem DC 820

I've had this little phone for around a year now, so, I thought I'd try to write as detailled guide to it as I could, catagorised into sections. In brief, this is a great phone- when you take into account its price, it was cheaper than the Nokia 5110 when I bought it yet has a vibrating alert, a handy speakerphone and is the same weight as the Nokia 3310! I have a Sagem DC820 which was purchased for £49.99 from Dixons about two months ago. It is on a pay as you go tariff with One2one. I would recommend this phone to anyone as super value. To be honest I did not research the features of this phone or the other phones available at the time of purchase but rather chose it because I found it small and lightweight and very aesthetically appealing. Nowadays the Sagem DC820 is an antique, but even back in it's glory days it did not really shine, except maybe when it came to power consumption. But that advantage is one that makes no difference since the original battery was of only 600 mAh, or so it appears after i opened it and observed the colour of the cells (capacity was not marked on the label; light green cells = 600-650mAh). If you looking for the mobile phone - you definitely should buy this one. For only J50 including J10 free calls you get: 1. a great and compact handset, 2. a lot of tunes, rings and beeps to choose from, 3. free voicemail services, 4. auto lock keypad, 5!. vibrator (very useful- you will never miss a call- it will let you know about it by simple vibration in your pocket, and of course free massage tool.) 6.!!! I bought the sagem from Vodafone about 18mths ago, on pay and go, for a considerable £89 and It was crap, frankly. Vodafone has kindly replaced the phone 4 times already, and they are still dodgy. Very small and light, the phone itself would have potential if it worked. Unfortunately, temperamental best describes this little French handset. Very selective on recieving/making calls, text messages coming through weeks after they were sent. The truth be told, the Vodafone rep told me in as many words that these phones are problematic, and all they could do was keep replacing the handset for another (dodgy) one!
