In April 2001, I was on the lookout for my first mobile phone. I had put the decision of whether or not to get one off for far too long, and it was only Virgin Trains, or rather the tardiness of the aformentioned firm, that prompted me to get something which would ease the pain of travelling on the British Rail Network. I needed something cheap, since it was only of use to me when I was on holiday from school, and mobiles were banned at my particular establishment. I needed something easy to use which would give me reliable service whenever I came home and needed to go from one place to another. The Sagem MC 920, at only £40 on Vodafone Pay As You Go, was the phone to ... Read the complete review

***UPDATE*** I have now been using this phone for a good few months, two problems that I have discovered 1, the ariel has a tendancy to come away from the body. 2, the battery has become a bit looser and the phone has on quite a few occasions switched itself off (even when I have been writing a text message) ***ORIGINAL OPINION*** Due to a temporary change in my job, I have handed back my trusted Nokia and needed to get myself a mobile in a hurry. My first considerations were the cost of calls. I did not want a contract phone, as I am already the recipient of more bills than I care for. So I was looking towards a pay as you squawk ... I've had this 'phone over two years now, and I'm just about to upgrade, so I'll share my experiences of it. I bought it originally in Oct 2000 solely to be used for txting, as I have a hearing difficulty and am unable to use a phone normally. I was attracted to the phone because it was rather attractive (more so at the time) and the price was reasonable - £39.99 - especially for someone like me who doesn't need the latest ultra-trendy feature packed phone. I was quite happy with it at first, but it soon became appearant there were problems: 1) Using the phone for sending txts is dreadful. The buttons are designed in ... Read the complete review

Its light, its shapely, and its easy to use, but I cant see the numbers anymore. Well for only almost £50 (including £10 worth of calls on smartstep) I'm not complaining. I've had the phone for about 5 months now and it gets a lot of abuse. Its been dropped about 5 times, been everywhere with me and even swam in the bath for a couple of minutes! Its as hard as nails, except for those little rubber buttons!!! All the paint has come off the popularly used buttons such as the 'space' button for writing text messages , and the 'OK' button is also now non existant. The phone has lots of different ... I brought this phone for my two teenagers. It is small and easy for them to handle. they love it. It is easy for them to understand how to use it. the only thing they both would have liked is games on it. my son enjoys the fact that it is hands free. Also when it comes to topping up their credit they only have to buy £5 at a time. The price is very reasonable as well. ... Read the complete review
