Although I must start off by saying I do like this phone, the selling point "smartphone" mustn't fool you. The only way in this phone can call itself a "smartphone" is because it can connect to a Wi-Fi. Other than that, it's a high-end 'basic' modern-day phone.
The optical trackpad that is used for navigation reminds me of a Blackberry, and I can see how this can be a cash-saving version of a Blackberry for most people. Although in comparison to a Blackberry, the trackpad is much easier to use on the Samsung Ch@t.
The QWERTY keyboard is designed with ease of use for the customer in mind, and I love texting and e-mailing using the keyboard.
This phone is very much for the 'social butterfly' as it comes with all kinds of social networking apps - Facebook, Twitter, etc.
The battery life of this phone is not excellent, however considering it is a smartphone and a lot of the functions do suck the life out of it, the battery life is impressive. On average I'd only have to charge it approximately once every 3-4 days, which, as I stated previously, is impressive.
To conclude, if you don't have a busy life and don't require the extra functions of a high-end smartphone, such as an iPhone, I would recommend this mobile phone as it can cope with my demands and more, and I'm definitely a busy-bee when it comes to my mobile phone.
