Advantages: Stylish, easy to use

Disadvantages: Could be a little smaller, however size is not too big

The decision to purchase a Samsung D600E was probably my best to date. As allways Samsung's design and software completely sold me!.
The D600E is a very stylish phone with a great design.

The visual design is quite sleek, the phone is black with quite a large screen. the square central button below the screen provides easy navigation in the menu and has the usual surrounding buttons, the answer button, the end call button a cancel button and 2 shortcut menu buttuons. The D600e is a sliding phone, slides up to reveal the keypad this is quite a good function as when you slide down after a call the front keys automatically lock.

The screen has a side menu with 5 icons. Call Register, Messaging, Calender, Camera and Wap. When you have a missed call or a new message it shows on the main screen next to the icon how many you have and provides quick access using the navigation buttons to read/reply/call back.

**Menu Features**

Once you slide the phone open you can easily click the left hotkey button to access the main menu. The menu then provides 6 Icons.

CALL HISTORY: Once into this feature you can view your missed calls, dialled calls, recieved calls and call time. you also have an option to delete all times and reset the counter.

ADDRESS BOOK: In the address book you are prompted with the following options. Your conatct list, option to add a new contact, (though you can do this by entering a number manually on the main screen and adding it to contacts), the option to assign groups and identify them by seperate ringers - for this option your contacts need to be stored to the phone and not the sim,Speed dial setup - very simple to set up, your name card which is like an electronic business card and an option to display your own number and your services number.

SETTINGS: In here you can edit your settings for the time and date, language, shortcut keys, volume under the phone settings option. You have also the display settings, this is where you change your wallpaper, you can also change the position, colour and placement of your clock and operator text. Sound settings, change the ringtone and the tones of your alarm your text and mms messages. Also listed bluetooth where you can change the display name of your phone and also switch it on and off. Security - you can use this option to lock your sim. Memory Status - this informs you how much memory has been used and what is remaining. And at bottom a reset settings option where you can restore your phone back to its factory settings.

CAMERA: 4 options with this menu, take a photo, record a video, go to pictures and go to videos. The camera quality is quite good though not the best ive seen. You can also edit your photo's and add effects which can sometimes provide quite humourous results.The camera lens it on the reverse of the phone and has a built in flash (that can be used as a torch) to the left of the lens and a small square mirror on the right should you want to take a picture or video of yourself. Video quaility is good but can only take video's upto 1 minute.

MESSAGING: Pretty easy and self explanitary as allways 5 options on this menu, create new message, my messages (inbox) Teplates - you can custom you own like "im gonna be late" for when your in a rush, then you have the delete all option and your messaging center settings.

BROWSER: Haven't used this function to be honest but included in this menu are 6 options: home, bookmarks, go to URL, clear cache, profile settings and current profile.

APPLICATIONS: Another 6 options on this menu. MP3 player, voice recorder, image editor, Java world - this is where the phones games are located included games are Forgotten warrior (not played) Freekick (very addictive, a football penalty shoot out game) and Arch Angel (not played)
World time, Alarm, a calculator and a currency convertor.

MEDIA ALBUM: This is the menu you use to accss your images, videos, music and sounds again on this menu you are given the memory status option to check what you have used and how much remains.

CALENDER: Never used this function on any phone in my life, but there are 3 options - day view, week view and month view.

These 9 Icons for the sub menus are neatly illustrated and the icon highlighted zooms in and out to a larger image.

***Battery Life*** I consder this to be very good, I use this phone 5-6 times a day and speak roughly for about half an hour and usually I can leave my phone up to 3 days unless you play any of the games it runs out considerably quick which can be expected.

***Sound Quality*** Excellent, the sound is crisp and load, the mp3 player function allows you to play the song aloud, a very good sound coming from a phone that sounds better than a few stereo's ive heard. You can also select your mp3's to play as your ringtone.

***Size*** The phone itself looks very big, It actually isnt compared to others it's often smaller when compared. I guess its shape and design makes it look bigger than it actually is. This phone is also quite lightweight and can easily be carried in a shirt pocket.

***Accessories*** I suppose this depends on your package but included in mine was: a wall charger, a data cable and software CD for a PC installation to manage files on your phone. A car charger and the mp3 headphones.

Overall I am very pleased with this phone and its performance
