Disadvantages: very basic
I had this phone around 7 years ago when it first came out and was thee phone to have at that time. It was great because it was slide up - meaning there was no chance of ringing someone in your pocket or sending blank messages - which happens a lot to me these days. It is also very easy to use. To answer a phone call or end a phone call, you simply slide the phone up or down. The buttons were big enough so personally, it enabled me to write a text message without even looking at what I was doing. All in all it was a very good phone for that specific time. However, now there are smart phones such as the iPhone 3GS & 4 and the Blackberry. These have taken over the mobile phone industry and with their touch screen technology, shortcuts to various things such as Facebook and Youtube, large memory and connection to the internet via WiFi and 3G, they have pushed phones such as the Samsung D600 out of the picture! Technology moves on so rapidly and this phone would only be good for maybe work phones or for people who find smart phones etc complicated to use. People who do not need internet access via their phone or need to have large memory, would benefit from this little phone as it is what the consumer requires from a basic phone. It gets you from A to B, which suits most.
To conclude, I would say that if you need a basic phone to simply make phone calls and send/receive text messages, this would be really quite perfect.
Summary: For a basic phone to get you from A to B, try this one!
