Samsung Galaxy S
Advantages: Cheaper than some smartphones on the market, fast processor, 8GB Internal Memory
Disadvantages: Battery life drains too quickly
It was quite a big gamble I took selecting the Samsung Galxy S smartphone for my new contract deal with my mobile network operator. I had never before purchased a product or service from Samsung before, although I had heard so many good things about the earlier Samsung mobile phones, so I thought I would take the risk and have got to say it was a risk well worth taking!
The Samsung Galaxy S smartphone is plain and simply a top of the range device which simply blew me away from the day I bought it with so many amazing features which to this day I'm still discovering now almost 8 months after I got it!
The phone's performance is outstanding even more so when you install the latest firmware updates from the Samsung Kies program. The device also has a clever voice recognition feature which enables you to actually speak to your phone and request what websites to access, SMS messages to send etc.
Down to basics, it has all of that including making voice calls which is incredibly easy and texting your friends/contacts is also a simple task. You can also download a number of applications from the Samsung Market which you can download both free and paid applications, many of which are extremley useful to have!
The phone's specs are really impressive with a fairly fast processor and 8 GB internal free space which is more than enough space for any smartphone user, allowing you plenty of space to download your apps and transfer music, take photos etc. It's simply perfect. The brightness/display quality on the phone is also impressive. You can go to settings and change brightness/display settings which might be a good idea if you wish to save battery life.
Which leads me to the one and only small niggle with the device - the battery life. The battery life on average lasts about 5-6 hours after constant use. Although there are many basic things to remember to save your battery life, such as adjusting your screen timeout settings, brightness settings and things like deactivating Bluetooth can save you precious battery life too. All very basic stuff really, but if you want all of this and your phone pushed to it's limit, you will need to take your battery charger with you because you will need it before too long.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy is a must buy smartphone with an excellent, wide selection of things you can do. It's becomming clear phones are no longer just about making voice calls and sending text messages and after you buy the Samsung Galaxy S, you will very quickly realise that!
A must buy.
Summary: A must buy smartphone! One of the best Android phones available!
