Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use, nice sized screen, great app store, hard wearing.
Disadvantages: Battery life isn't great,
Ive had this phone for about 6 months now after upgrading from a blackberry curve and it has not disappointed.
I was very impressed at how much of the phone is taken up by the screen, which makes it great for watching videos, playing games and enjoying all of the apps off of the app store. The phone isn't too heavy and nice and slim making it comfortable to hold. It's a nice size but not too big and chunky that it gets in the way.
It's easy to use and all the apps are laid out well so its easy to find exactly what you are looking for.
The app store, in my opinion, is far better than the apple store for iphones and the blackberry market. the reason being, so many great apps are free or you can buy slightly better ones for a tiny price. Theres so much variety as well and always new apps and updates so its very difficult to get bored with it.
The music player is good and gives you the option to search a certain song instead of going through a long list to find the one you want to listen to. All your emails are stored in one place.
As for the SMS (texting), for anyone who already has a touch screen phone it won't be a problem for. the letters are quite close together so anyone with bigger thumbs may have trouble sometimes with pressing the right letter but with the auto rotate feature you can turn the phone so that it is horizontal. this makes the keyboard bigger and easier to use. anyone who isnt used to a touch screen phone may find it tricky to begin with but it won't take long for anyone to get the hang of it.
The phone is so easy to use and since i have got the phone six people in my family and two friends have now decided to get the phone as well. This is including younger brothers, parents and grandparents. I think this definitly has proven that samsung have made a phone for all generations.
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 has a memory card slot meaning there is plenty of room to store thousands of photos, videos, songs and apps. It also has wifi which makes using the internet nice and easy especially if you have wifi at home. This means you can use the internet without using up your mobile packet data.
It's nice and strong too. Coming from someone who is quite clumsy and drop my phone fairly often the most ive got is two tiny scratches on my screen which are barely even noticable.
The one main criticism i do have is the battery life isn't great. But if you charge it up overnight the battery will last for at least a day. It just varies depending on how much you use the phone for apps and music.
Summary: A well made easy to use phone, well worth buying.
