Advantages: easy to use, bright, well presented.

Disadvantages: internet and camera not great.

I will now have had my Samsung Genio touch for two years at christmas. I first saw the advert for the phone only a few months before christmas 2009. The phone was presented to me as a fun coulourful cool little phone... with a touchscreen! I heard a few people around talking about the phone, so that made me want want it more considering it was going to be popular.

When I opened the phone on christmas day I was very pleased with what I saw. I got my Genio touch in pink. It is a very atractive phone, medium sized and coulourful. The touch screen was a perfect size, not too big, not too small.
When I turned the phone on I was also pleasantly suprised. It was user freindly, bright and well layed out. It only took me a short while to work out how to access all the phone's features such as phone, text etc. I particularly liked the home screen. It is layed out in three sections, you swip to the left and to the right to move from screen to screen; this may sound confusing but many samsung touch screen phones are layed out like this now including the galaxy range. There is a widget tool bar to the left of the home screens which pulled out reveals widgets such as twitter and facebook, stickey notes, birthday reimminders etc. You pull out the widget you need with your finger and place were you please, that was an other reason why I immediatly liked the concept of this phone, It was very personal and customized to the owner.

The menu screen was also layed out similar to the home screen, there is three sections. The three sections each had many applications like camera, voice recorder, games, radio (only works when earphones are plugged in), music player etc. The camera is OK a bit slow, and obviously, being a 2mp camera, it was'nt the best of quality.
the voice recorder was good. it recorded things acuratley and played it back loud as the speaker was loud. The music player was also good. you can get songs by either plugging into the computer or by using bluetooth. and as I said before it had a good speaker for playing out loud. The internet was'nt great, a bit slow but ok for browsing, I didnt go on to it often though as it was expensive. Games were a bit hard to get. my genio did'nt have any games pre loaded on to it, though this may be different depending on were the Genio was purchased. To get more games was a bit harder. you had to connect to the internet then download the payed game onto your phone. The genio also had all the other basic applications like settings, time and date, calander, contacts, text, phone (obviously) etc. It also has a good batterie life.

overall I would reccomend this phone for a younger teen. it is good for someones first touch screen phone, but for technical people I do'nt think this phone would be the right one as it does'nt run android, like the galaxy range.

Summary: It may not be amazing, but it has every thing you would need.
