Advantages: Quick, easy to use, looks sleek
Disadvantages: Difficult to tell when you are connected to wifi, unsure how durable it is
Two weeks ago, I opened my door to the delivery man and let a new appliance enter my life - my first touch screen phone. I must admit I was quite nervous about the whole experience, I nearly phoned vodafone up again to ask if I could switch to the Tocco Extra (much more like my old G600!).
The Samsung Jet was beautiful packaged, a little black box much like that of a present made me feel like my birthday had come a little early. At first glance, I was suprised at the numerous reviews I had come accross that had heralded that the light weight feel of the phone made it come accross cheap. This was not the case, it felt comfortable in the hand and looked extremely stylish. The back clicked on and off easily and I soon had the batteries in.
On starting up the phone, my first joy was the AMOLED display, it was much clearer and came accross sharper than my old G600 and I was able to take it outside without any difference to the quality of my view of the screen. I then tried the camera, it came with a 5 megapixel, even though this was no different from what I am used to, the camera took much better focussed shots than my old phone.
The wifi was the next trick I played with, within 5 minutes I was connected to my home wifi. The only downside of the phones wifi, is that it is difficult to see whether you are connected to the phone internet or the wifi, the G sign seems to display all the time, although vodafone has told me it prioritises the available wifi.
As for what I was most nervous about, texting on a touchpad. I found the resistance of the Samsung Jet touchpad great and was able to type relatively easily and quickly.
All in all a great phone which I am very happy with - do not listen to the bad reviews on some of the other sites.
Summary: An extremely good value stylish phone
