Advantages: One of the best Cameras you can get attached to a phone.
Disadvantages: Possible lack of downloadable extra widgets
The main reason people look at this phone, is the fact is currently one of a very small number of phones with an 8 mega pixel camera built in, i've had this phone nearly 4 months and have to say that the camera is flawless, it has a flash that can light up a club/ blind a room of people (I learnt the hard way) and a reasonable zoom function.
If you're buying this phone for the camera, you can't do much better and would do right to choose this phone. The camera offers a number of focus options, scenery, portraits etc. Face tagging and web integration alongside more normal options and extras, sepia, negative and quality selection.
The other main advantage of this phone is the reliable touch interface, allowing scrolling through images, texts or toying around with widgets. The phone offers both normal number pad emulation and keypad by turning the phone on its side using its accelerometer.
Internal memory is reasonably sized but can be increased with a MicroSd card which are becoming cheaper with the popularity of smaller phones increasing. Mines holding an 8GB at the moment, which has in no way slowed it down and can hold thousands of images or whatever media you want to customize your phone.
The phone has a fairly sophisticated media player, supporting playlists etc, sound playback is brilliant, headphones or HD speakers are supported and provide great quality.
It's also worth noting that the phone itself is pretty sturdy, after dropping it numerous time on number of wet dance floors it's survived to my amazement and relief. Since then i've discovered you can buy cheap plastic/ rubber/ hard cases, which I'd recommend since the phone is quite thin, making it occasionally difficult to hold and take photos, but that relies on the owner really.
Depending on where the phone is purchased it can come with a range of accessories, there are stylus and fancy earphones available. I think there is also a number of colour options available, or soon to be released including pink. =)
The only downside is the lack of extras in comparison to the IPhone, since the phone runs on the normal Samsung OS and mainly runs it applications through Java, its up to you what you add to your phone, which may require some hunting on your part.
Summary: Amazing phone, especially for the photographer who doesn't want to carry a huge camera around.
