Advantages: Affordable, good features, good camera, supports stylus use

Disadvantages: no 3G

The Samsung S5230 has a 3 inch touch screen with 240 x 400 pixels and 256k colours and unlike most other touch screen phones is enabled for stylus use. The phone supports SMS, MMS and Email with WAP 2.0, HTML and xHTML web browsing, with a Google search function.
Built in 3.15 megapixel camera and takes photos in up to a maximum of 2048 x 1536 pixels, the camera's features include; digital zoom, LED flash and smile detection. The video record function with 320 x 240 pixels and records in 15 fps (frames per second).
The phone has three modes of information input handwriting recognition, traditional onscreen 12 key alphanumeric keypad and a full size QWERTY keyboard. The screen rotates when you turn the phone. The phone also has features such as alarm, To-Do List, notes and converter. There is also a speaker phone for hands free calling.
The built-in music player supports music formats such as MP3, WMA, and ACC.
The Samsung S5230 has a built-in FM radio for local or national stations.
The USB cable or Bluetooth® 2.1 can be used to connect to other devices such as printers or laptops as long as they are compatible. The handset also supports java 2.0 and downloadable games.
The one disadvantage would be that the handset does not have 3G.
