Advantages: Great battery life

Disadvantages: Missing features

When i dropped my Samsung D900i in the bath (don't ask!) i decided it was about time i upgraded to a new phone. After days of research on features and prices i decided the Samsung GT S5230 aka Samsung Tocco Lite would be the best value for money.

The battery life on this phone is excelent, i sometimes go 3 days without having to charge it. If you use the features of the music player, bluetooth or call people alot this may run the battery down quicker but compared to other phones of a simular price this one seems to have the best battery life. The battery life is supposably meant to be 10 hours talktime or 600 hours in standby mode but i personally feel it will end up slightly less than that as obviously using other features of the phone will also eat away at battery life too.

Despite what alot of people seem to claim, the touch pad is really responsive and easy to use, the only problem i have is on games you sometimes have to press down harder on the smaller buttons to get them to work.

Another issue i found is that you can't read texts mid-phonecall, on my old phone i used to put loudspeaker on and reply to any texts while still talking to my caller, whereas on this phone there doesn't seem to be an option to do so.

The 3.2 megapixels camera is of really good quality but does not have a flash so is difficult to use in low-lit enviroments. The phone also has a standard video recording feature, the resolution of this feature is 320x240.

You can use a up to 16gb micro SD cards in this phone for extra storage space, i personally have a 2gb micro SD card in mine and still have plenty of space left on it even though it contains 100's of photos.

The web browser uses 2g technology so isn't quite as fast as the top end phones such as the Iphone, due to this when steaming videos on websites such as youtube it is viewed in a really low quality and hard to make out what the video is actually of.

The widgets and games aren't quite as good as those on my friend's Iphone and there isn't as many to chose from although it doesn have an online store there is very few applications on there. I really like a application that came with the phone called 'Tumbling Dice' it does what it says on the tin, instead of rolling real dice when playing board games why mot shake your phone and use virtual dice instead.

The outside of the phone is appealing, it's not too bulky and has a similar look to the Iphone. You can also buy clip on covers to change the look/stye of the cover relatively cheap off websites such as ebay.

Summary: Great phone but if you expect it to be as good as the iphone look elsewhere
