Samsung GT S5230
Disadvantages: Slow, insensitive and clumsy
I bought this phone as a stop-gap phone for me, with the intention of then passing it onto my 11 year old son for him to use after I had saved up for a smartphone. He ended up with the handset after a few days as I absolutely detested the phone from start to finish!
The phone, even when new was very slow to react to the touchscreen functions, so you end up pushing an area of the screen twice, to then find when the phone caught up with you, you had then gone onto a different screen than the one required. This is a problem my 11 year old has as well - I first thought it was just my impatience! The touchscreen is very insensitive as well - you end up thumping it to get it to react, it does work better with a fingernail, so shortnailed people and your average male user may struggle with the on screen functions.
I found the sound to be very tinny, and even with the included headphones, the sound did not really improve. The headphones, which double up as the hands free kit are very flimsy and broke within a few weeks of having them with no real use made of them.
Although I realise that this is a budget priced phone, and so it does do it it says on the tinm - make calls, text, take basic pics etc, I still would have expected more from Samsung, whose other phones that I have had, both budget and expensive have always been so much better!
