Advantages: Looks Brilliant and the clarity is good, Dual Screen is a good design, Can assign shortcuts to your arrow keys

Disadvantages: Texting is slow and you lose the text you are writing if someone calls, No word wrap in texting and you cannot add to the dictionary, Battery Life, Battery Life, Battery Life

After reading the opinions on dooyoo, I decided to purchase the Samsung A300...I am now returning the phone after one day's use! Here is why

~~~ Advantages ~~~
To my first delight, it was free on the network plan I chose.
To my second delight the phone is sooooo cute, so small and the "washing machine" part is great! (This is the dual screen part so you can see who is calling before answering the phone and also displays the time and date, signal strength and battery life)
My third delight was the clarity...people didn't realise I was calling from a mobile - excellent.
Fourth delight much easier to read and access the WAP which thanks to this phone I am doing more often (and it's free on my network O2.)
However, there were no more delights! :-( Sorry to be a downer but if you're a Nokia fan and a text fan you may not like this phone.
~~~~Disadvantages~~~ (Thick and Furious)
Text messaging - This is my fav and I can text 300 free so I do it alot and fast - I have nifty fingers but...not with the A300. It does not text wrap, it does not underline the word you are on, (Nokia users will understand that) it does not give you the option of adding the dictionary...what a pain and when you send you have to hit a few keys before it is actually sent. This takes a long time and means I don't send as many texts as I usually do. Also, if someone calls you whilst your in the middle of writing a text...you lose it!!

Phonebook - You cannot copy from sim card to phonebook and vice versa all in one go...you have to do it one by one and it takes a very long time (it takes seven key strokes / taps to copy one name from one memory to another) Further more, you then have to go and delete the duplicate as it does not give you an option to erase the original (unlike Nokia)

Ringtones - Dire, dire, dire, dire...not loud enough all sound the same, cannot download. Also the phone do
es a loud bleepy thing when you turn it on or off (now I can imagine myself being burgled, me being in bed, so I pick up my phone to alert the police...but instead I alert the intruder cos my phone does a little tune!!) Call me paranoid, but I would at least like the option of deactivating that baby!!!

Battery - Life of this is non existant...charge it once a day and have to switch it off at night if I wanna preserve it...I won't mention the N word but their batteries last for ever!

Also, The navigating around the menus are slow.

I don't want to put off those people that hate Nokia's so I will mention some fab things about the Samsung A300 that Nokia does not have.

1. You can assign short cuts to your arrow keys for the menus you use the most
2. You can set the phone to do a little bleepy thing when your call is connected (means you don't have to hold the phone to your ear until the call is answered)
3. You can assign different ring tones to message alerts.
4. The service light flashes red when you have a text message
5. On missed calls you can tell if the person trying to contact you has rung once twice or even 10 times (on Nokia you would only get details of the last time that person called you.) (great if you wanna know how much that person really likes ya ;-) )
6. I love the active flip...makes you look cool.
7. Love the time being on the front dual screen and in the dark you press and hold down the volume button to activate the light
8. The handsfree piece is perfect, so stylish and you can use this to answer calls and end calls and is the only one I have ever used that does not fall out of my ear
9. Finally, if you are a fashion concious person you will love this fone...it will make you look hip and cool.

~~~Conclusion~~~
Buy it if you have never owned a Nokia and if you don't text a lot. Buy it if you have no money...cos it's free on most networks (pay mo
nthly. Buy it if you wanna look good!
