Advantages: pretty...
Disadvantages: messaging, signal capabilities, melodies
I upgraded to the A300 about 3 months ago now and it still looks as stylish as it did when I bought it, which unfortunately is one of the only good things about it. I live in the country and signal is pretty poor at the best of times, but my old Nokia's could cope with it, I could lie back on my bed and have a decent conversation, now I have to hang upside down out of the window! Another thing that annoys me is the text messaging - as other opinionators have mentioned the T9 texting is a bit poor, you have to flip out of the T9 view into normal text view to get an exclamation or question mark. If you want it lower case you have to press the * key, and it won't remember it if you turn your phone off! The fact that it doesn't remember words is another problem, as Nokia's do - plus the fact that it only holds 10 msgs and makes an annoying squeak when you have run out of space! The vibrating / melody function is a bit poo, it vibrates (if you can call it a vibrate!!) for about half an hour before the melody kicks in, which is absolutely useless coz the caller would have rung off by then. The Melodies - they are either really shrill and annoying or just plain annoying, sorry Samsung, not as good as the Nokia! The menu system is pretty simple and very much like the Nokia but does take a while to register. So, all in all, quite pretty but no stamina! Just like me really!

- 28/11/02 Hiya and welcome to dooyoo ;)
Not a bad first op but could use a bit more info to get better ratings - it's a good idea to read around the site and get an idea of the kind of standard people write to. If you need any help feel free to contact me via my profile page.
Have fun ;) |

- 26/11/02 Interesting to read your comments, my wife has that phone and gets better reception than her on Nokia (3210?). And her vibrate (well the phones!) is nothing short of vicious - best vibrate I've felt from a phone! |
