Advantages: dual screen

Disadvantages: texting function, short battery life, no games

I bought my Samsung a few months ago, i have had four mobiles and this is the worst i have had so far i am counting the days until my contract ends so i can get an upgrade.

Like many people i brought this phone because it looked good, the dual screen thingy appealed to me.

However the features on it are useless

The predictive text function doesnt really predictive and doesnt have a full dictionary, also you cant get away with doing symbols like u coz etc, they are not recognised so you end up typing it out anyway also you cant add numbers at the same time as letters you have to fath around changing the case, typing the no and then change back again argh!

I used to be speedy at txting know im more like a snail. Therefore i end up phoning people costing me more.

Another strange function on this phone is that you cant have it on vibrate and sound at the same time, this is the only phone on the market that does this. This means that you miss loads of calls

In store they advertise the phone with the slimline battery so it looks small and feels lightweight. However the slimline battery lasts for about 10 mins (not literally, on standby it lasts about a day) even less if you actually talk on it. The standard battery lasts the same length as the Nokia battery but it is really big and heavy. It makes the phone really bulky, exactly what i didnt want from a phone.

Also there are no games facilities on the phone which u strangely miss when you havent got them.

It has the usual WAP and dual band facilites, they both are ok but im not an expert as i dont really use them.

The menus are o.k to use and you can find your way round pretty easily, although trying to find your own number is like trying to find a needle in a haystack (i am useless at remembering my own mob no)

It seems pretty resistant i have dropped it a few times and there has been no damage done, however i would avoid doing this
.

The flip up screen looks good but i find myself using my teeth to try and flip it up when my hands are full which is pretty often. A Nokia is better because you can answer it with one hand.

Overall the Samsung A300, is an awkard to use and bulky phone. I cant wait to get rid of it, it is so annoying especially the txt function, it makes you want to scream!

I've never found a mobile phone with good predictive text messaging, and normally switch that off - much quicker to text without it! I actually like the flip lid myself, but can see why it could be a bit of a pain sometimes.
Anyway, your op seemed a little rushed in places (spelling), but it was still a useful review. Well done.

Ziggy.
